The hotel is in a great location, quiet with a walking distance to Albufeira old town and local beach. The view from my room to the beach was amazing. The hotel looks old but well maintained. The staff at reception were super helpful and attentive.

Fantastic stay at this hotel. Great staff to welcome you, breakfast was awesome with a unique view over the surrounding bay. Beds were comfy, 5 minute walk to the old town with some cafes and bars on the way. A perfect place for a few days. Thank you Hotel De Gale

The location was lovely but you pay for what ya get, which was basic. No air con, basic breakfast but was content with it, maybe could have had boiled eggs or yogurts. No lift so not suitable if you have a disability, staff helpful but didn't like that they didn't change towels everyday but understand the logic.

Okay value for money

It was okay, taking into consideration what we paid. Close to everything (but very uphill). Room was a good size. Free breakfast, nice to have, but don’t expect much. Pool area wasn’t the best and pool wasn’t super clean. Not handicap friendly. Very very noisy - you can hear everything and everyone - both outside and inside the hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Convenient location near the old town and beach, and reasonable rates. However, don't expect too much. The room was basic and clean but needed updating. It had no air conditioning, and the hot water for the shower was cool. The shower head holder and loo flush button were loose / broken, and the continental breakfast was basic. Overall the hotel was just about ok given it's star rating, and the staff were great.

Pleasant stay, no problems

I felt I should write a review after reading lots of bad reviews about this hotel, as I had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very basic and doesn't have air conditioning but I knew this before booking. My room didn't get a lot of sun and the temperature was fine. It is clean and there were cleaners working all the time. There are a lot of steps in it but I didn't have a problem with that, there is an elevator. All the photos the hotel provides are exactly how it is. There is a lovely view from the pool and breakfast area. Breakfast was basic, as expected but enjoyable due to the lovely views. It is in an elevated position above the old town, so I would usually walk to the town, which isn't far and get an uber back, which was €4. The lady at reception was very pleasant. Overall, I knew what I had booked before I arrived and I didn't expect five star facilities at a two star hotel. Also I was travelling on my own and felt safe.

Great location budget hotel. You get exactly what they describe and the price is cheap. Free parking and location of most things is within 10 minutes drive. 24h desk and WiFi is decent. We had a balcony with a great sea view. They also have a pool. Clean but only small negative was mattresses weren't the comfiest - bit worn and could do with upgrades.

I booked this hotel then read the review and panicked!i dont think they stayed in the same hotel as us!lovely lady on reception greeted us,room spotlessly clean,breakfast was an added bonus! The views must be some of the best in albufeira!lots of lovely areas to sunbathe too and nice pool. We would definitely stay here again!

Even though it is advertised with parking included, you are on your own finding a parking spot off street ( that was we were told at night when we came back to this place). At 31 degrees, no fan, no window screen with tons of flys outside the window.
