"Off season so the “hotel” was closed. We were staying in the “residency” in a 2 bedroom suite. Still, at $1200/night you think they’d try. Or close completely. "Very nice hotel, AMAZING location, and super friendly staff! We would recommend. Not super fancy, but perfect if being in a glitzy resort isn't your first priority. Decent pool. We go to Snowmass for the experience and don't depend on super fancy hotels as much as some others in order to have a good time. We like clean, convenient spots with comfy beds and nice amenities like hot tubs and a bar. Would recommend."

"This is my third time staying at hotel Durant and I am absolutely blown away by this hotel. This is literally the best deal in aspen. I kind of want it gate keep it! Everything is so clean, the rooms are so cute. My bathroom was huge and absolutely pristine with gorgeous finishes. There is nothing budget about this little hotel. It’s just the best. It’s such a great deal considering it’s literally in downtown Aspen. It is no frills and the rooms I have had are small. You are only there to sleep! I appreciated that AC mini splits as the other budget hotels up there don’t have AC. The breakfast was a nice bonus. I just grabbed banana and tea and a bagel."

"Harken back to the glory days of Aspen, when genuine warmth and authenticity were the norm, and book a room here. This hotel is an endangered slice of old Aspen. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the kind of genuinely welcoming front desk staff that have become all too rare. It felt as though I had stepped back into the Aspen of the 1980s—not as a dated time capsule, but as the town was at its best: warm, welcoming, and full of character. Throughout the property, iconic photos and gear celebrate Aspen's history, the surrounding mountains, and the pioneers who helped build the town's ski culture. The atmosphere feels authentic and rooted in place rather than designed to impress. The rooms were remarkably spacious—far larger than many of Aspen's newer luxury properties—while remaining spotless and exceptionally well maintained. The complimentary coffee and well-stocked snack selection were a pleasant surprise and reflected the same spirit of thoughtful and generous hospitality found throughout the property. In a town where luxury can sometimes feel manufactured, this hotel offers something increasingly rare: genuine hospitality, character, and a true sense of place. For travelers seeking the Aspen that existed before the designer boutiques and ultra-luxury hotels, this property is a refreshing reminder of what made the town special in the first place."
