"This was our "treat yourself" hotel and our expectations were higher in terms of the room itself. The "garden view" rooms are not really views of a garden, but rather a cement wall and rooftops with a couple trees planted. That said, the view of the mountains afar was pretty. The room was also far smaller than I expected for the price. We stayed in a lot of hotels during our trip and every room in 3/4 star hotels was larger and more comfortable. "A spectucular location with great views from the east bank of the Mekong River of the broad river, boats on it, and the surrounding karst mountains in the near distance beyond. Peaceful and beautifully maintained acres of landscaped gardens. Historic home of former revered Lao Prince. Good AC, wifi, shower or tub bath. Pool was wonderful with very nice chaise lounges and umbrellas but only about 8 of them, not enough if there are many people using it. Very good food options, both western and Southeast Asian. Some issues with food needing to be brough on trays from seperate kitchen, some dishes arrived only warm. Lovely decor. Cable TV is not all that good, less than strong signal, only a few channels in English. Free shuttle service seven times a day into LP city 2.5 miles away. Friendly service, Stephen the operations manager very helpful and speaks good English. Limited English from the friendly staff. Well managed and clean."
