"Our condo was outstanding. Perfect for us. It is a beautiful place to take a vacation. Gorgeous property. We saw sloths, monkeys, tropical birds and a red frog. Chef Saul in La Rosa accommodated our changes with a smile. "Our stay at Playa Tortuga was unfortunately very disappointing. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that the property is poorly maintained. The overall cleanliness of the place was lacking, especially in the rooms and bathrooms. "Just returned from a fantastic 3 nights at Casa Cayuco with our family of 5. Everything, from the welcome and transfers, to the smoothies/drinks, fresh made meals with local ingredients, to the excursions far exceeded our expectations. We are a mixed Panamanian-American family, and Casa Cayuco allowed us to introduce our children to the most beautiful parts of this country. "Beware! This hotel is not in central Bocas Town, even though that is where the Expedia map and the "View in a map" function shows the hotel to be. The hotel is actually on Isla Pastores, which is at least a 30 min boat ride from Bocas Town. The hotel is not at all convenient for the main Bocas del Toro attractions, such as snorkeling, surfing, Starfish beach, Red Frog beach, Zapatilla Islands, etc.
The hotel appears to be trying to lure customers into thinking that it is centrally located....
