"If you are visiting for your first time to Costa Rica this is not the place. When we checked in at midnight we walked to our room, that was farthest from front desk, and the keys did not work. Had to walk back to get keys that worked then the door latch on the inside caught so we had to Jimmy it open. The rooms were not well maintained and the doors did not seal so bugs would crawl in the room and we would have to kill at least 5 bugs a day. The shower only had hot water so could not adjust the...

"Trop cher pour ce que c’est. La chambre était grande et propre mais dépourvu de décorations, serviettes seulement 2 pour la douche, pas de tapis de bain, pas de serviette à main, pas de bte de crème ou bonnet de bain ou autre qui est pratique. Pas de couverture ou oreiller d’extra, pas de safe, pas de cafetière ni de verres pour boire. Nada! Le staff est gentil, le wifi fonctionne bien et le parking est sécuritaire. La piscine est bien et propre "

"The Trapp Family Lodge is in a beautiful location surrounded by nature. Delicious home cooked breakfast, and the restaurant was well priced and great food. The staff were always smiling and very friendly. Made us feel right at home."

"Hotel Cerro Lodge
Oh dear…I had a whole ecosystem in my room, and not in a good way. Constantly had medium-large ants coming into my room from the bathroom. Look - I know it’s Costa Rica, and I can handle some ants, but we’re talking about having to step on 30+ ants over the course of two days.
The whole room felt like zero money has been put into it to maintain / upkeep the property. Wifi in the room was extremely slow (I ended up just using cellular data instead). Air conditioning worked...

"We loved our stay at this hotel. The location is great - close enough for a quick drive into town or for the Cloud Forest Reserve, but also very quiet and peaceful. The suite was spacious for a family of four, and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the sunset views from the upstairs patio. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. "

"We left after only one night because the bugs in the room were so bad we got eaten alive. Holes in the screens allowed large beetles into the room and the biting insects were so bad I couldn’t read on my tablet because it attracted the biting insects and my hands the next day were swollen with insect bites. No mosquito nets or fans were in the room to help so we suffered all night and were horribly bit up by the morning.
