Staff were all very attentive and friendly!

Unfortunately, my stay at Shangri-La Bangkok was very disappointing, mainly because of the extremely poor check-in and check-out experience. At check-in, I was assisted by Kate, and it was one of the coldest and least welcoming hotel arrivals I have ever experienced. I had booked a room with lounge access and breakfast, yet she did not explain any of the hotel’s facilities or benefits. She never told me: * Where breakfast is served or its opening hours. * Where the lounge is located or its operating hours. * The location of the swimming pool or fitness center. * Any other information that a guest would normally expect during check-in. She simply handed me the room keys in a very impersonal manner and walked away. Unfortunately, the check-out experience was no better. I was told that I had an outstanding bill that I needed to pay, even though I had not had dinner or incurred any extra charges at the hotel. I was asked to wait while they checked the records. After some time, Kate returned and admitted that the charge was not mine. However, she did not apologize for the mistake or for making me wait unnecessarily. I can honestly say this was one of the weakest guest service experiences I have encountered. The property itself is nice, but the front desk service fell far below the standards I expected from Shangri-La. “This experience made me regret choosing Shangri-La Bangkok, and unfortunately, I would not consider staying here again.

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had at a resort. The staff was outstanding always helpful me and my wife felt like celebrities! 10 out of 10! We will be coming back for our anniversary for sure.

We have the villa with a private pool. The ad on the hotel website said one bedroom but there was actually two separate bedrooms. Very spacious.

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had at a resort. The staff was outstanding always helpful me and my wife felt like celebrities! 10 out of 10! We will be coming back for our anniversary for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, all the staff were very helpful. The room we booked ended up having an ocean view, even though we only booked a deluxe king which was an added bonus. The welcome drink was also very nice after a long flight. Be prepared to either wait for a buggy to pick you up or walk up a log of hills, as the whole hotel was up and down in the hills. This did not affect us, but may do if you are handicapped. The general location of the hotel is not great if you want to do sightseeing, as we had to get an hour taxi ride to the Buddha, and the Phuket town. We also had to do a long ride to the port for any boat trips which was a bit annoying. It was only 15 minutes from the airport however which was nice and quick. If you want to just relax at a hotel, this would be a great choice. The swimming pool was great, and the gym was empty most of the time. We also appreciated that you could go down to the pool at any point and get a seat as towels are removed if you put them down before 10am, and after 30minutes if you do not return. We did try the Italian restaurant which was nice but has limited vegetarian food. The poolside restaurant was alright but the iced coffee was not nice.
