Clean room and pleasant staff but as a coeliac I consider the breakfast offerings to be very, very poor. No gluten free cereal at all. A "full English" for me consisted of egg, beans and tomato, - a "full English"- really?!! No bacon for me because they use turkey bacon!!! - not gluten free. No effort to improve on this. In fact the only cooked breakfast available was an omlette or something like scambled egg on toast. Oh yes, at least there was basic gluten free bread. Premier Inns can provide a better breakfast for a coeliac than this, - at half the price, - £21 for the limited menu I was offered, same price as for non allergy customers who can eat their fill. Yes, you can possibly, maybe, find a cafe somewhere to get a better breakfast but I was on a tight schedule and accompanied by a non allergy person not keen on trekking around town for breakfast. The hotel needs to make it clear that coeliacs are not welcome at breakfast here.

Great location. Nice staff. Clean room.

Very convenient location for travel to and from Paddington. It is an older style no-frills property and internally the hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren. I didn’t sample the included breakfast. Did the job for me as a budget-minded solo traveller on this occasion.

Threadbare drapes, stained carpets, scratches and dents on the wall, chipped soap holder, tea cup that was chipped and dripped tea through it, two pushed together beds instead of a single king bed, peeling paint, and no outlets where there should be (I.e. none by tea kettle, none by bedside tables). For a 5-star hotel at this price is embarrassing.

We had a nice stay at The Franklin. Our only real complaint was that the room, a Garden Suite, looked nothing like what is advertised either on Expedia or the hotel's website. The room was nice, it just didn't look anything like what were expecting. The overall service at the hotel was excellent.
