If you have a short stay, this is in my opinion, not where to stay. For the cost, you might as well enjoy the hospitality of a nice hotel not the apartment.

There was a softness in the atmosphere that allowed us to completely let go of stress.

The host was friendly and always ready to help when needed.

Very nice rooms and clean. Staff was responsive. Only thing that was misleading was that clients with stays that are less than 5 days don’t get access to the gym or the outdoor pools. This was not mentioned in the property listing.

The check-in process for this apartment was more complicated than for a standard hotel room (this was the first time we booked an apartment through Expedia as opposed to a regular hotel room). The person at the lobby 'front desk' was not helpful at all and was obviously there to assist actual apartment residents, rather than temporary guests such as us. Also, our car got 'booted' while parked just outside the lobby entrance and we were working through the check-in process (there were *no* signs/markings indicating parking restrictions). Once we'd completed check-in and got to the apartment, we were pleased overall - it was clean, the space was ample and the furnishings were suitable to our needs. The property photos posted on Expedia did not exactly match the actual look of the apartment, I suppose the posted photos are representative of a generic apartment at the property and individual apartments vary somewhat. For instance,the posted photos show both a washer and dryer, but our unit only had a washer, *no* dryer, and we had to use the supplied line/hangers on the balcony to dry our clothes. Lastly, going back and reading almost all reviews on Expedia left me with two thoughts: 1 - We did *not* experience a 'bait and switch' situation as described in many of the negative reviews. I guess just be aware that this situation is a possibility. 2 - Many 10 out of 10 reviews on Expedia look 'suspect'. They only contain a short blurb of glowing remarks and a one-night stay.

Grand du Lac was an absolute standout and easily one of my favorite hotels during our time in Vietnam. The location is wonderfully central, putting you within easy reach of so many places; whether we felt like strolling there on foot or hopping in a quick Grab ride, everything just felt convenient. But what really made the stay special was the staff. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, they remembered us and greeted us each time we returned. They even reached out via WhatsApp to check if we needed anything, which was a thoughtful personal touch that made us feel truly looked after. If you’re looking for a hotel that nails both location and hospitality, Grand du Lac delivers on every front. We can’t wait to come back :)

We had a 3 night stay. Room and amenities were very good we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast has both western and local options, they have a rooftop bar and restaurant where you can sit in the background of Saigon river view. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Only one suggestion to property owners is that please inform guest about how to operate lightings in the room. We couldn’t find the switch to turn off light above the bed and finally we figured out it was in the remote control. Otherwise we had an excellent stay at Grand Saigon. Wifi also very good and fast.
