"TL:DR, The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I paid Expedia extra for a room that wasn’t available, and the staff accommodated as much as they were able and was very friendly. I very much appreciated that. I wanted to stay here because I’ve driven by it literally hundreds of times and the atrium chandelier always looks so nice from the freeway. Inside, the rest of the hotel is also nice, just old. The carpeted floor is just slightly sticky in the way that most South Louisiana hotels are....

"The only positive thing about our stay at this hotel was that the A/C blew cold. The staff were rude and not helpful at all. The room was filthy, and when we asked simply for the floor to be mopped we were met with attitude. The breakfast was very limited and not child friendly. All the sheets and towels were stained terribly."

"The lady at the front desk was great. The breakfast was excellent. The cleaning staff was wonderful. The only thing I did not like was my wife and I was watching our four granddaughters for my daughter and her husband to go eat and they said we only get four armbands for the pool and since there was 6 of us they wanted us to pay 25 dollars an armband so that would be 50 dollars just for a few minutes at the pool. "Unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. The room was not thoroughly cleaned. The air conditioner vents were dusty, the shower was dirty, and the ceiling fans had visible dust buildup. Overall, the hotel appears outdated and could really benefit from renovations and better maintenance. I expected a cleaner, more comfortable experience for my stay."

When we first checked in, our room was on the second floor, and even walking down the hallway felt unsafe because there were several soft spots in the floor that made it feel like you could fall through. "Beautiful house and setting. We loved the garden and the outside seating. The breakfast was traditional Louisiana with all guests seated together ‘a la famille’ We stayed in the Victorian room which was spacious and well equipped."

"The hotel in itself was good, the staff was AMAZING, but what brought my rating down is the area of town it is in and the prostitution running out of the parking lot. I had two women approach me (a woman) at 4am while I was getting ready to leave the hotel to finish my road trip home asking me if I would like their services. No thank you. Again, the hotel was nice but the area and surroundings were TERRIBLE."
