With dozens of interactive displays, live experiments and mind-bending exhibits, Wonderlab Science Museum is a gateway to numerous scientific marvels for curious young minds. Step into a world of wonder, mystery and fun.

Learn about scientific concepts such as states of matter and density when you explore the Bubble-Airium on the first floor. This exhibit features lots of soapy bubbles and a giant floating bubble. Also on the first floor is the George and Evelyn Brabson Discovery Garden for children age 6 and under. Among its attractions are the Magnet Wall, the Kaleidoscope Cave and the tree house climbing structures.

Wander through the Fitzgerald Hall of Natural Science on the second floor to see live insects, amphibians and reptiles in settings that mimic their natural habitats. Among the animals exhibited are bearded dragons, Chilean rose tarantulas, honeybees, rough-skinned newts and corn snakes.

Visit the saltwater aquarium where a rich variety of marine plants and animals live in a self-sustaining coral-reef ecosystem.

Conclude your visit with a walk through the Lester P. Bushnell WonderGarden, just outside the museum. This horticultural oasis encompasses native woodland plants, herbs, flowers, sound and solar science exhibits and a water feature.

Observe the tower, which is a nesting area for chimney swifts, given that name because chimney surroundings are their favorite areas to build nests.

Located in Bloomington’s downtown entertainment district, the Wonderlab Science Museum is easy to reach by public transportation. There is a bus stop right outside the museum and Bloomington’s main bus station is three blocks to the east. If you are driving, find free and paid street parking and paid parking garages along nearby streets.

The Wonderlab Science Museum is open every day except Mondays and most major holidays and charges for admission.
