"Honestly I didn’t feel too safe at this location. There is a pub/bar connected and it truthfully just gave me not so great vibes. I didn’t want to leave my room if it was dark and the unit doors had a 1-2 inch gap at the bottom, so if I put my phone on the ground… I could pretty much see into the unit across the hall. I had to use a towel to cover mine. Also, because of this - that meant you could literally hear EVERYTHING from in the hall or other units… I won’t be staying here again. "

"First and foremost the staff where absolutely fantastic. The building is aging and not much has been done to keep things current. Our room had no windows and was very hot and stuffy. Staff provided a fan but we had to leave the door open to the room after every shower otherwise it was unbearable. There was a light in our room that was non functioning and you could tell by looking at it that it was fried. Tv dos not work the first night(we where offered another room but did not want to lug...

"Basically, you are getting a facility similar to a motel, still present as Star Hotel. I have known this group for 16 years. Recently, I found that the standards and quality of this particular hotel have declined, with untrained staff and many other areas needing improvement and upgrading."

"After many years of travelling, we stayed at our first bed & breakfast at No.5 East. Beautiful old mansion with beautiful rooms to stay in. Nice area with restaurants and shopping around the corner. Continental breakfast was great and the Latte’s exceptional. The hosts were amazing and easy to talk to. We will certainly stay again on our next visit to Winnipeg. 5 stars from us"

"We stayed there while my son had to go to the hospital. The staff was great, and there were lots of food options nearby. We’ll definitely come back. I can absolutely recommend it. "

"The location is good because there are two great restaurants within a short walk. Both have delicious menu options including lots of vegetarian dishes. Another perk is every room has a Nespresso machine. The only drawback to the location is the hotel parking lot is small."
