The Hotel has the best view I've seen, 10mins walk to the train station to most attraction. Special shout out to Victoria and Linda giving us advice what to do in Interlaken.

Enjoyed our 4 night stay at Hotel Berghof Amarnath. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the included breakfast was delicious. Certainly would stay again.

Mildew build up on windows and bathtub and walls. We got sick from the bad conditions of our rooms. The hotel refused to allow us to check out the next day and forced us to pick other rooms to stay in. Old rustic property in many rooms. Some lights work and others don’t. Floor so old and uneven. Staff rude and disrespectful. Our room key got stolen among other items when our car was broken into in the big city. The hotel asked for a police report which we provided upon their request. They still charged us $150 franks for losing the key and with the police report they still did not waive the fee knowing that we lost so much because of the theft. They listed laundry facilities but that’s not true! They charge for every service and do not have any facilities for their guests use.

Really great hotel, amazing rooms, clean, comfy beds, helpful customer services, free upgrades when hotel not busy. Has everything you need. Slightly out of town so you'll need a car. Breakfast was the same every day, would be nicer to have a bit of variety.

Highly recommended base for interlaken area
I was uncertain about staying here as there were mixed reviews, but I am VERY glad I did. I was upgraded to the "chalet", a modern adjacant building in chalet style, where I had a spacious room with everything one could want, including great views & a balcony. The included breakfast buffet in the spacious dining room was excellent, a very full range & lots of choice - everything from hot bacon & eggs to a variety of cold meats & cheeses to cereals & a great coffee machine. Parking is spacious & free (rare in this area) Interlaken is an interesting destination - but you do pay for that!! Typically at least double the price I paid to stay here. As this hotel is about 1km from Wilderswil town, it is best to have a car here; or bikes; or enjoy walking.

Second time here for hiking over the weekend. I like the style of the hotel, it has very pleasant surroundings and great view of the mountains. Comfortable room and adequate breakfast. Recommended.

Great place to stay and relax! The only real downside is that it’s a bit of an effort to find the place the first time. But it’s just a quick walk down the hill to the bus or to the train and then into Interlaken. You will not regret staying here!

It is so peaceful and fantastic view of Jungfrau. As well as the cows in the field. I love it here and have been 3 times and will always stay here. The breakfast is excellent. I love the village.

The pictures on the Expedia site does not match reality. Had serious problems with hot and cold water control in one of our rooms. There is not attenden at the front desk from early afternoon until the morning. If there is a problem, there is nobody to talk to. Most of the very limited stuff ( two ladies, one if them named Katie ) were NOT nice. Katie even said that we bothering her with our questions when we tried to understand about the area winter activities. The property has really nothing special to offer. The building g we stayed at looked very nice from outside, but was freezing inside. They indicated that they are not using heat at the building comin areas because the hotel is almost empty. No hot water for coffee or tea during the days and evenings. Basically very disappointing..

We have the phone with us the whole time. About the questions you asked me about the area, I gave so much answers as I could answer you. I tried, but somethimes I was not ready with my answer that the next question was already coming, I could not following answering them. That is why I told you that there were too much questions. I tried to be helpfull as possible. But I have to say also that I don't work at a tourist information, and I know a lot about the area, but not everything. About coffee and tea during the day, you could ask us for hot water or borrow a water kettle. About the rooms, I am sorry that you felt cold in the rooms! If I was rude to you, I apoligies! Nice Hotel.. Nice staffs.. Good breakfast.. Extremely scenic surrounding.. One thing to note hotel is on top of the hill. Needs 15 minutes of walk from train station. Buses are not frequent and don't go till Hotel. One problem faced in hotel was accumulation of water in bathroom.. Rest was good..

Equal Advantage and Disadvantages.
Advantages: This is one of the nice hotels in Swiss. This is located in typical Swiss Village Wilderweil where one get to see the actual swiss life. The hotel staff is very friendly. Rooms are very clean. The breakfast is decent. You get free bus pass to Interlaken. Connectivity to Jungfrau is super. Disadvantages: This is located on hilly landscape and taking u r luggage and reaching there is tiresome if u don't have a car. Also in the entire village there are only 2 restaurant and its around 1 mile from hotel. If you have not opted for dinner and want to have dinner in the hotel restaurant you need to inform in advance so that they make sure chef stays back. Overall we enjoyed a lot. The staff was so sweet that they packed our breakfast as we were leaving early morning. Except for that hilly terrain this is a great hotel.

Hmm. Not sure at the price charged.
A 40 room hotel being run like small b&b. Restaurant and bar but not always available. No chef for arrival night = no dinner, threrefore went elsewhere for subsequent night because breakfast poor. Ok breakfast second night.bathroom clean but cramped and basic stuff like bars of soap and sachet of shower gel/shampoo provided. Fantastic setting with beautiful views.

loved his place. Especially eating breakfast with a view that was incredible. Nice country feel to this area, not congested. Go explore the castle ruins while you are here.

Sleepless in the Alps!
Hotel is very hard to find,and if you leave very hard to refind. Thanks to GPS we managed.Bed is a very soft mattress placed on slats, Could not sleep the first night asked to change room but found bed was the same in the larger room.Second room had a pullout couch that we were able to sleep on.Hotel is very clean and breakfast was very good.

Lovely hotel with magnificent views
Our room had a view of Lake Brienz from one balcony and the Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau from the other. Very peaceful in the surrounding gardens disturbed only by the staff offering cushions for the chairs! All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was the steep hill from the village which we knew about but this is easily avoided by taxis. We tended to get a taxi from Interlaken which cost about CHF25 but well worth it. There are probably taxis from Wilderswil but not sure. The breakfast buffet was excellent and probably the best we've ever had.

Awful attitude of staff and mediocre quality
The lady at reception was full of attitude and no sign of welcoming. Upon checking the room, we realized we were not given the room type we paid for, and reported this to reception. To our surprise, she started yelling that we are mistaking and she's given us what we paid for. When we forced her to check our booking, she suddenly realized her mistake, but yet continued arguing with us with no sign of remorse and apology. The hotel was overbooked apparently through several group bookings (to our surprise with such a poor quality!) and they acted as the first come, first be given the better rooms! Then, they ran out of the lake & mountain-view room type that we'd booked. Reluctantly, decided to stay there since we just finished a long drive. Very basic room, dirty bathroom, cheap toiletries, and weak wifi connection were all parts of this awful stay! The owner needs to hire nice and competent staff with sense of welcoming, and less attitude. YOU are there to provide a service, for which the customers PAY. You are not doing any favor!

Alpine retreat
We have stayed here before because it is in such a beautiful location and close to all the significant Alpine sights . The view from the rooms is fantastic , the staff is wonderful , the only negative is the tour buses that use this hotel and make it noisy and crowded during evening hours and breakfast. They need to put in quiet rules for the group tourists.

So-so
The hotel is difficult to get to and very basic. Outside of the breakfast that is included, you must pay for everything else (and the prices are quite high). If you are staying one night it may be fine; however, if you are staying for longer I would recommend getting a hotel closer to Interlaken, the bus & the train stops. I felt that the price of this hotel was too much for what was offered & the poor location.
