"They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon."

"My husband and I have been coming to the Seahorse for quite a while. It is one our favorite places to stay. Our room was well appointed, clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff has always been kind and helpful. The location across from Jeanette’s pier, the beach, Sam and Omie’s, ice cream and Calhoun’s makes walking distance very convenient."

"We had an ocean front room with the historic wood paneling. It was charming and comfortable. I loved having the ocean access. The only complaint came from my teenage companion. She was surprised at the lack of outlets for charging her many electronic devices. Myself, this was to be expected and I didn't stress over it! I will definitely stay here again when visiting the OBX. Thanks so much!"

"Absolutely enjoyed the access to the beach and the staff were very attentive. There were a few large issues though. The tub would not drain leaving mid shin deep water while trying to shower. There were two large stinging caterpillars one in the towels the other on the wall. The AC window unit would not stay running keeping the room temperature very hot. After calling twice to verify they had a coffee pot that took pods upon arrival it was filter and grounds however the staff was able to find...

"Our stay at Cypress Moon Inn was idyllic! The home is close to amenities. Cocooned on a large waterfront lot in a haven of trees, you feel miles away from the bustle. Upon arrival, Linda warmly greeted us and ensured our comfort before offering a dinner suggestion. Ocean Boulevard was a spot-on recommendation! "My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful."
