After driving for several hours, I was ready to rest, so I was disappointed to hear that he saw no record of my reservation. I reviewed my Expedia booking to confirm with him that I was at the correct hotel on the correct day. He did some electronic digging, and after some anxious waiting, I heard him say, "Well, we didn't receive your reservation properly, but I can see that you paid Expedia. I don't know exactly what is going on with this, because we do routinely receive reservations through Expedia, but the manager can look into that tomorrow. I will make you a reservation through our system directly for $0.00 so you can check in and not deal with any of this." I was delighted. This was professional, thoughtful, and kind. He saw that he didn't have to accept fault or solve the puzzle in order to help me. Let's just get this tired traveler a room. What a guy! Also, I really appreciated the free breakfast offerings. Look, any hotel can pile on the luxury if guests shell out the money in one way or another. I slept well here at a place that, to me, exceeded my expectations for the price I paid."
