"The room was very dated and the carpet was icky, it looked a grim brown/grey colour. The bathroom was like an old hospital bathroom but the drain was exposed and felt so yucky looking at it. The lifts randomly stopped working and you can only really fit 2 people plus 2 cases at once, and they’re really slow. Vegan options at breakfast are very limited, there’s no vegan yoghurt, you get PB milk and spread, not sure if the bread/cereal is vegan and no one seems to know"

"The room was fairly clean, nothing special and dated,the carpet could do with a shampoo, bathroom old and tiered. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was very good and value for money, lots of dogs as dog friendly. Outside back garden was nice with the lovely lake ,plenty of outside seating.the A2 is right beside the hotel, noisy, but the double glazing is good and couldn't hear it when the window was closed."

"Our Cosy Double was as advertised -small but well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean. We had a lovely view of the extensive gardens. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly prepared and great service too. We also had a meal in the bar and that too was very good. The gardens are delightful and we walked around them many times and it was a real bonus to have several sightings of the deer. A small negative was that we had not realised that there are some EV chargers tucked away at the very back of the car park, as there is no information on this on the website or booking form and it was not mentioned to us at any point. Only late in our stay did we become aware of this. Process for using them is also a bit clunky - you have to plug in and ask reception to activate and the fee is a bit steep £20 for 24hrs if you are just wanting to top up. Nevertheless we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the hotel."
