We were pleasantly surprised. Price was much lower than comparable units nearby and pictures on the website showed basic/outdated interiors. Our cottage was updated with granite countertops, new gas stove and fridge, new flooring and fixtures. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great experience and location. Recommended for anyone. Will definitely return. JJ

The property is well located in the heart of Wells with a view of the ocean. It is close to restaurants and shops and the staff are pleasant and accommodating.

The view and the situation were excellent. The property was close to everything we wanted to visit . Only a few minutes to the beach.it was a deal.

Could have been better...
The room was clean, well equipped and the staff very pleasant but I had to keep all the windows open because the mildew/mold odor was overpowering. The bed linen was very 'tired' and there was even a large hole in the blanket. In all fairness; I did not complain until checkout time. The owner said she would have given me another room had I come to see her right away. That being said, the room should not have been in that state.

Location was great ! Property owners were very friendly and accomadating. Nice 2 bedroom cottage . Grill was a little outdated but other than that great stay ! Would definitely stay again. Sally from Vermont !

Perfect spot for a beach-centric stay. Kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom, TV. Communication was super easy, check-in and -out a breeze. I’ll be back!

Cottage was very sweet and I loved that there was a full kitchen and fridge. Staff was lovely and our cottage had a blueberry bush in full berry next to it, so we had delicious snacks.

Everything was great , accommodations , location to beaches ,and the owners and staff very friendly ,made us feel welcome . It was a beautiful place . Will certainly stay there again if we go to Wells again. Highly recommend .

Upon walking into the cottage, overwhelmed by the smell of cleaner. So strong you could taste it. A/C didn't work. Owner came in & the filter was clogged (Guess they don't do maintenance checks) There were no toiletries,towels were so rough, bed had no support & chair was so old that when you sat, it sank to the floor. Cottage is so outdated. Laundry room flooded & couldn't use it. Waste of money. DISAPPOINTING

Private and Quaint Cottage. We loved it. The Owners were very welcoming and quick to provide anything we needed in a very prompt manner. The pool was not ready due to cool rainy weather this Spring of 2019. It was understandable that the pool was not ready. But the Hot Tub was ready. 😁 We stayed in Room 108. This was our first time visiting The Belle of Maine Cottages and the Coast of Maine. As a matter of fact, we usually would go to Newport, RI. However, we decided to try a different area near the Ocean. Now We have decided to make Maine our regular vacation place. Maine has so much to offer and awesome place to explore. This is such a beautiful State. The Benefits include we are not that far from the mountains or the ocean! Many thanks to the Awesome stay we had at 'The Bell of Maine' cottages. We will be back! They cabins are quaint, clean. The owner was very friendly and accommodating when we extended our stay. Everything is convenient and we would stay there again if we ever get back to that area.

Some units need to be updated some but, they were clean and dust free. The people that run it are very nice and are informative about the area. This was our first time in Maine and we had a great time. We even met people that were from our area of Glens Falls, NY.

Within a few minutes from Wells Beach. Near a very nice and reasonable restaurant. Came with equipment to cook at the cabin. Very nice accommodations. Would stay there again.

A wonderful surprise. A great value, great location, nice pool, plenty of space. An easy bike, drive, or trolley ride to several beaches (Footbridge is our favorite). A two minute walk to Congdon’s Donuts and their new evening food truck camp, to Mike’s Clam House, or to The Steakhouse. Plenty of parking. Cabin was clean and cozy. We’ll be back!

A taste of Maine
Enjoyed a nice vintage Maine cottage with updated bath & kitchen area. Best location on Route 1 Wells area, great food & shopping within walking distance. Nice grounds with great heated pool & jacuzzi! On site owner & staff. Nice view of the Atlantic Ocean. Great cozy & comfy stay!

We went in the wrong entrance. This was not our fault since there was no sign stating that. There was a concrete brick close to the side of the road. We didn't see it, and the result was that we ran over it and it caused damage to the car door. The double room bed was very uncomfortable. This property is very old but some things could be upgraded to make a bit more space. The one plus side is that it was significantly cheaper than anywhere else in the area. Then again now I know why. Glad we stayed only one night. Also, they recommended the restaurant across the street--Mikes. It turned out to be quite a tourist trap. Had a terrible piece of fish there.

Family get away
This was just what our family was looking for. We went to Maine to visit friends and see the Wells area. This was centrally located to everything in town and provided a clean and quiet place to stay. Great service, other guests were very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to others to stay.

Great bang for the buck!
Had a pleasant stay at the Belle of Maine. Great location- walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, convenience stores, and the beach. Fabulous pool and hot tub. Stayed in a motel room- decent kitchen area, no microwave but there was a 12 cup coffee pot, comfortable bedroom, very small bathroom with shower only (no vent, so the bathroom got pretty sticky and hot when showering), old but decent tv. Safe and quiet (set back enough from RT 1 thatvthe road noise was minimal). Met some really fun folks. Will definitely stay here again!

we checked in for a two night stay for only 2 people but expecting 2 more the following day. The facility had no problem with this and parking was also not an issue. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and accommodating..

We had an excellent stay at the Belle of Maine.....very clean,plenty of hot water for showers,close to grocery stores and other things needed(Walmart) .The owners were very friendly and helpful....I would gladly recommend this place to anyone and everyone......fantastic!!!
