"Overall it was an excellent experience. Fantastic front desk staff. Top notch! First hotel in Belgium (it was our fourth a this trip) with a small refrigerator in the room. Free parking is always a huge plus in my book. A couple of notes, though. If you are going to change €24 for breakfast, the food on the buffet line needs to be hotter than lukewarm. (Although the freshly prepared omelet was hot.) And the shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower was broken and/or empty. Dinner at Restaurant was much more reasonable than breakfast and delicious."

"This hotel was great. Everything was clean and as advertised. This hotel offers automated check in/check out. There are options for contacting a person, but I did not need to. There are tons of shopping and dining options in the surrounding neighborhood."

"The hotel hits all the right spots, the location is excellent, the design is sleek, and the atrium is impressive. Standard rooms face inwards towards the courtyard rather than outside of the city, so if you are looking for natural light, this might not be the best option. If you value natural light, then upgrade to a premium room and book an exterior-facing option"

"I love this hotel as it is newer, clean, beautiful views and lounge! The gym is wonderful and so is the spa. The staff at front were very friendly and helpful. However my only issue was the communication after booking was very frustrating. The hotel kept saying they would charge us 70euros a day for a cot when we never requested one and kept saying in msgs that we do not need one. At checkin, they said they’d remove the charge seeing we didn’t need a cot, and at check out it was still listed and had to ask again to remove. Bizarre. Otherwise, will return! Highly recommend for their newness and facilities."

"The hotel was clean, well maintained and the room was comfortable; the bed was large, comfortable, and with good pillows. The bathroom was an excellent size and very good quality fixtures and fittings. We were pleased to have a coffee machine, fridge, safe and large wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers, as well as coat hooks, shelves and shoe storage. There were no available electric points at the bedside, with the only 2 in the room being in the corner behind the desk or near the floor beside the mirror - a little inconvenient, but not a huge problem. We were very disappointed to find the beautiful bar and terrace area which are shown in many photos we're not open while we were there at the times advertised. This was a shame as it had been a big appeal to us when booking the hotel. We did go to the restaurant which served breakfast one evening as it was the only 'bar' area open - and we were horrified to find a single shot of vodka was €12 with a sprite mixer an extra €5. I'm not sure we have ever been charged €17 (or equivalent) for a single spirit drink anywhere we have travelled! Outrageous prices. Overall though we enjoyed our stay at Le Châtelain ad the room and hotel areas were lovely, and a good location close to transport links with tram and bus stops close by."
