"This is a very well appointed hotel in a convenient location by Bournemouth standards, directly across the street from the Russell Cotes Museum, and a climb up the hill from the pier area.
The spacious rooms are clean and have every amenity you could want, including two fans, which came in handy in July. And enough storage to put away a month's worth of belongings.
The pool area is lovely, we were here a few weeks earlier and there were no chairs out. and no one around. The second time there were no chairs left and the bar was open. So I guess you have to time the pool area just right.
When I arrived early, my room wasn't quite ready so I went to sit in the bar area for a cup of tea. I'm afraid that was not well timed either, the employee was obviously upset about something and was short tempered. Then the other person in the bar had to get a refund from a different employee because what she ordered for lunch had gone off in some way. I didn't hear the whole conversation while I was waiting for my tea. But he gave her a refund and an apology.
Compared to several other large hotels in the immediate area, I would choose the Marshawn again."
