"This was my first visit to a hotel with no reception personnel. However, the instructions were good and I was able to check in on the machine and receive a room key. I speak some German, so that helped in following the registration instructions. The only complaint is that the door was left ajar on two occasions by the cleaning staff. It required a slight slam to get it to close properly. It is very convenient to public transportation, shopping and good. There was a great breakfast spot one-half...

"Hi, there is no do not disturb sign so every day the cleaner would knock very loudly and barge into the room. Also the owner demanded payment when I checked in the even though I booked online. Why do I have to pay twice? Also I checked in at 11:30 pm and the reception was closed even though they’re supposed to be open until midnight. What if I didn’t have a phone? I would have had to sleep outside "

"Horrible experience. I was traveling to Berlin for one night and upon arrival I found the hotel front door closed. Apparently this is normal as there is no staff on hand unless there is a check-in due however this prompted me to give the hotel a call. "This property was a perfect place to rest your head at a very competitive price. Its located next to multiple U-bahn stops for easy commuting around the city and a 20-30 minute walk to downtown Mitte, 10-20 to Kreuzberg, and to many of the sight-seeing spots around town. There are few amenities (bring your own bath soap and don't expect an iron), but the bed is comfy, the space clean, and for that price and location, made for a great place to rest my head at the end of a long day."

"The only reason I didn't give excellent is because the hallway and stairs need work. The room itself was bright and comfortable and clean. I feel this prooerty has gotten an unfair rap. It is an older building and not your IBIS but it is fair value downtown AND the host is the nicest and most helpful we have encountered AND there is an excelkent and full breakfastbreakfast "
