Really horrible place with terrible staffs. Staffs looked like a criminal gang. Everything in the room was so dirty. They don’t even change the bed sheet and our bed sheets looked like that they have been unwashed since many years ago.

Great location.
The manager was from Vietnam and spoke excellent English. He was very informative and helpful. The location is great! It is close to the night market and a lot of good restaurants.

Good enough for a night or two
Good location, friendly staff who were really helpful explaining how to get around. Room is very basic, but clean. Bed was not comfortable at all though, which I remember reading in several other reviews before I booked. I can confirm this is very true.

Filipino staff will welcome you and they all are very kind and gentle. The hotel itself is a very simple, the name is hotel, but more like guesthouse. The location is really nice, 3 minutes walking to the night market and, 5 minutes walking to the Mekhong. The hotel is located in the center of Vientiane, so you can find everything needed for travel such as foods, cafe, minimart, travel agency, money exchange etc.

Affordable and friendly
For the price, the Vientiane Star Hotel is a very affordable option for those wanting to stay slap bang in the centre of the city. Overall the place is clean, the bar area is pretty cool and the staff are friendly. The only negatives are the bar always playing music loudly throughout the day and so it can be hard if you want to relax as the rooms are literally surrounding the bar area. Also, I would say that the beds are unbelievably hard meaning I headed straight for the massage parlour once I got home.

more like a hostel, the "special rate" was close to the usual room rate, all in all disappointing, there are other guest houses with some standard for half the price, staff super friendly and helpful

Good hotel
Nice place, hidden in an alley but on in the center. Vientiane is a small city so its easy to walk everywhere. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Small room, No fridge in room. Bed very hard. Went out that night, got home late to find the gate was locked. No security persons to let me in. called phone number No reply. Had to jump over high gate and let myself in.

Crappy hotel with great staff
Great location.close to river and night markets in a central location but it's old and tired and grubby. The breakfast was great and the staff happy helpful and friendly. Just not worth the money!

Nice breakfast, not the cleanest room!
The room had dust, a dead cockroach and a couple empty water bottles at the side of the bed. The breakfast was really good and so was the location and staff.

Trendy Little Fun Hotel
It's cheap and the staff is warm and friendly. You get free breakfast and they give you choices (4) what to pick from each morning 8am-9:30am. But I saw people coming down 10 mins late passed the cute off and the staff is so nice they cook it anyways. My check in was not for hours but they saw how tired I was from taking plane after plane and let me check in early. Friendly staff, safe area, its next tot the night market and so many temples! They have a happy hour at this hotel too and a few things to eat. Its so casual that people feel comfortable just hanging out in the lobby =)

Good choice in the area
The hotel is in the perfect location in the old town, near restaurants, bars and the night market. Most of the main tourist sites are easily reached on foot as well. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the breakfast good (pancakes, eggs, basic but tasty) and there is a reasonably priced courtyard bar. The room was basic but clean. Good value for the area.

Consider your options!
Only stayed here for one night before moving on to another place. Staff very friendly & helpful. Room very basic, beds hard & found a few bugs around our pillows before going asleep so made the night sleep uncomfortable. Good location for bars and restaurants.

Pessimo hotel e pessima la signora che lo gestisce. Come al solito le foto non rispecchiano la verità sul posto. Convinto di aver prenotato una stanza con servizi, mi sono visto presentare una con il letto attaccato alla porta d'ingresso e basta. Alle mie rimostranze mi ha risposto che avevo prenotato questa e se non mi piaceva potevo andare via. Una maleducata del genere è difficile trovarla. È dopo una furibonda lite mi ha restituito, in parte, quello che avevo già pagato alla prenotazione sul sito. Da eliminare dal sito per evitare che ad altri turisti capiti lo stesso che a me.
