"We didn’t stay at Steele Cottage because the floors were being redone & took longer to cure. They placed in another facility that I never would have chosen, but they didn’t give me a choice. Staff on the phone was friendly. Staff at the Green mansion where we had breakfast were lovely. The room was clean, but the bed required steps to get up on top. Biggest problem was location. Racing cars kept waking us up. At on point there was a screech of tires and a woman began yelling for 10+ minutes. Seemed as if drug deals were going down. "

"This was a basic room but very clean and the staff was very friendly. We had accidentally booked a smoking room but the staff immediately caught that and asked if we needed to switch. The National Military Park was just minutes away as well as downtown Vicksburg and grocery stores. "

"This 1840 mansion is beautiful. We stayed in the Grant Suite where 70% of the furnishings were original. It sent shivers up my spine to know we slept in General Ulysses Grant's bed. I wish we had been there for a meal. The dining room and menu were inviting. All was perfect except the entry. They need to make it a little wider. It's on a hill and hard to see the driveway over the crest, especially after dark."

"Desk staff person was not easily approachable; the security guard in the front desk area was distracting. The next morning the same desk staff person seemed to be in a better mood talking on the phone while I checked out. When we got to our room down a Long hallway the room door was open and the room had basic old furniture. We sleep in our clothes for a quick exit if needed because of the other guests we saw outside in the parking area around the front door and down the Long hallway."
