This was the second hotel in a small village we stayed in (other was in Azay-le-Rideau), and I absolutely loved this one, too. This charming hotel in a 1700's home was at the top of the hill, a block down from the Basilica. The staff was wonderful, the room was very comfortable and clean and updated, with plenty of room for me and my luggage (my room had a double bed).
There are a number of restaurants and shops in the town. I recommend eating at Auberge de la Coquille, which was just a little down the hill from the restaurant.
We were confused by the Do Not Enter signs at the bottom of the road, but we then realized that local traffic is allowed. There is a small parking lot a block before the hotel, and parking is free from 7pm to 9am. There is another lot beyond the basicilla, but we were lucky enough to find a space in the small lot for all three nights of our stay. If you have trouble walking, there is a small 6 person shuttle that will take people up the hill. I'm not sure if it is all year round or just the warmer months.
I really loved this hotel and village. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.
