The staff bent over backwards to try and make my stay pleasant after some initial problems caused by the Expedia description. Comfortable room, great location near the Rialto and lovely people. I would definitely go back again!

There was no fridge in room to keep drinks or anything .also there was no elevator snd had to walk .76 steps to get to our room.Also no tv in room.

Buongiorno Mrs Katherine, thank you for visiting us and for writing the review. We wanted to clarify some things. Our hotel is one star, comforts such as minibar and TV are not included. As the building dates back to 1289 and was used as a convent until 1748, it is not possible to equip it with an elevator. This information is visible on the Expedia.com/Hotels.com website and you may have missed it when booking. In the booking confirmation message we had written to you that the room was on the 4th floor, without a lift, you did not ask if it was possible to change to a room on a lower floor. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not your expectations. Perfect location, 1-2 mins off the boat taxi stop. The higher part of town so even staying during the worst flood in 50 years, this was the best area of town to be in. Some restaurants nearby stayed open and all the rooms are off the ground level so we stayed dry. The staff was very friendly. During the flood they let us borrow rainboots for no charge

The apartment was huge. The bed was a bit hard and there wasn't a tea towel in the kitchen. There were no changes of towels so we had to use damp ones after our first shower.

Seemed like a more traditional hotel. Comfortable and large room. Views were just of other neighboring buildings, not waterway as in picture. Staff and owners were helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay. Great for the price. Easy to get to water taxi, food and shopping.

We stayed in an apartmeng near St. Marks square. It was very spacious with a well equipped kitchen but a microwave would have been useful.

Perfect location
Amazing location, very convenient to the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop, steps from the Rialto Bridge, the Rialto outdoor farmer's market, and tons of cafes, shops, restaurants, and bars. The room itself was comfy, the bathroom was well equipped though shared with 3-4 other rooms. Breakfast was good, a standard European shared breakfast room with breads, deli meats, cheeses, coffee/tea, yogurt, granola, jams etc. They do ask you to leave the room key at reception every time you go out, but we did find that they kept it staffed 24/7 so we had no problems returning at 3am. Would stay here again!

HOLE IN A WALL.
I made my reservations to stay at pensione guerrato, asking for a great view like advertising. NOT for an apartment AWAY from the property they said is only five minutes away is NOT it took a least 30 minutes not counting the other 60 the we got lost looking for it walking. Only to find a very small apartment with a view to a wall. Horrible beds to sleep on, very dusty because of some remodeling or construction going on. We stay two nights with NO cleaning service and dirty towels.

Dear Mrs Rosie, You made the reservation through EXPEDIA, so you chose the apartment on line where there is the description of the apartment and where the apartment is located, (at about one minute walking distance from Saint Mark's Square and 15 minutes from the Hotel), the window of the apartment overlook a nice, bright and quiet square, (not a dark alley), however you never asked for a great view, you never sent us a single message to ask more informations about the apartment that you booked with Expedia. We gave you a well detailed map to get from the Hotel to the apartment and the staff always cleary say to all our guests that the apartment is about 15 minutes walking distance from the Hotel. You wrote that the view is to a wall, but I'm afraid you are counfused with another place. The apartment is perfectly restaured and there are no remodelling going on, the mattressess are new, we changed all about six month ago, I'm really sorry but I don't know what you are talking about. The clean service in the apartment is garanteed every 3 days and you only stayed two nights. Concerning the fact that the apartment wasn't clean I will personally control the apartment and talk with the cleaning staff. Great and convenient location! The room was very clean. Staff is very nice and the breakfast was great. If you like to go to sleep early and noise bothers you request a room that does not face the piazza. If we return to Venice I would definitely stay there again!

Cranky staff but great location
The staff was not friendly or helpful. The location is great with access to all the sites but was very noisy Saturday night late into the am. Take the public water taxi from the train station, which is very convenient & economical.

The staff is very welcoming and helpful answering questions. The rooms are simply furnished but comfortable and spacious. Good breakfast selection. Be aware that there is no elevator. Also, it is a very old building with thick walls, so WiFi connection is weak in many areas of the building. Great location near Rialto bridge and the outdoor produce market.

We rented the Calle Rizzo 2 bedroom 2 bath apt. for 3 days post- cruise. This place was palatial after being on a ship! It had everything we needed and was convenient to everything in Venice while being in a quieter location. The hotel staff were extremely helpful with check in and arranging an airport taxi. We would love to stay here again on another trip to Venice.
