What a wonderful place. From the location right at the Rialto bridge to the incredibly wonderful staff, this place hits the mark! We stayed in the residence which was absolutely lovely! The rooms were nice sized and the shower is wonderful. The staff really goes above and beyond. Alid was absolutely delightful!

This property was not anything like the listing. Room was very claustrophobic, low ceiling, tight spaces. There were no outlets conveniently located. All were along the floor in the main pathway so devices were in the traffic pattern while charging. Sink faucet was loose and there was a fear of breaking it every time it was used. While there is an elevator you still have to negotiate stairs with your luggage to get to the elevator from the lobby or your room. Check in agent was demeaning.

Dear Guests,we are very surprised reading this review about your stay, since this morning when you checked out the Reception staff asked about your stay and you replied that it was good.When you make a reservation online you can see all the details of the rooms also how big they are so if you like big rooms next time you should book another kind of rooms.This property is located in a XV century venetian building and we are very lucky to have an elevator so if you have to make some steps to get to the room we don't think it is a big problem. Anyway our staff is always available to help our guests with their bags up and down the steps.Kind Regards,EGO' Staff

Not a 4-star hotel
Pretty disappointing hotel. The staff was very nice, but the hotel itself lacks all amenities. Elevator was broken. AC had been shut off for the season, which was not disclosed to us. You were forced to leave the windows open at night to cool the room, which resulted in dozens of mosquito bites and horrible canal smells. The bed is old and uncomfortable. And the room is too small for two adults with carry on suitcases.

Our guests suggestions always help us to improve our services.We would like to specify that from the 15th of October because of the Venetian regulations all the Hotels in town has to turn off the air conditioning machine, so you can understand that it doesn't depend from us.Therefore about the mosquitos you can understand that Venice is a city with water so it is normal that there are some mosquitos here, anyway all our rooms are equipped with mosquito machine to avoid them to come into the rooms.About the size of the rooms, once our guests make a reservation they can see all the information about the rooms together with the size in m2. We have also bigger rooms than the one you booked so for the next time we suggest you to make a reservation for a bigger room if you know that you will bring some suitcases.We hope to have the chance to welcome you again in Venice.Kind Regards,EGO' Staff

Beautiful palazzo with some quirks/issues
Lovely and very nicely renovated hotel in great location, easy walking distance to most sights and water bus stops right in front of the hotel. The hotel Ego Residence is in an old palazzo which was lovely and quaint. Unfortunately, there was no hot water in our room on the first night there - we arrived at 9 pm and after traveling and had an ice cold shower! While the staff was friendly and apologetic it was not fixed until the next day. Then we had an issue with a bad sevage smell in the bathroom for several days “due to rising water in Venice”. Again the staff were apologetic but given the price we would expect fewer issues. Otherwise a great place to stay, lovely, clean and modern and comfortable.

I recently stayed at the Ego Hotel in Venice, Italy, and while there were some positives, there were also several disappointments. Firstly, the staff at this small boutique hotel were indeed lovely. They were welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay, which was a definite highlight. The hotel's location, right next to the Rialto bridge, was incredibly convenient for exploring Venice. We had easy access to many of the city's attractions, which added to the overall experience. However, my main issue was with the room. I had paid extra for a canal view, but to my disappointment, we were assigned a room with a view of a neighboring building instead. This discrepancy made me question whether it's worth the additional cost for a canal view, as it didn't live up to my expectations. Furthermore, our room had some maintenance issues. There was noticeable mold around the shower door, which was not only unsightly but also concerning for hygiene reasons. Additionally, the air conditioning system in our room was subpar, which made the stay less comfortable, especially during the warmer months. Regrettably, based on these experiences, I'm unlikely to stay at the Ego Hotel again, and I can't wholeheartedly recommend it to others. While the staff and location were positives, the disappointment with the room and amenities overshadowed these aspects of our stay.

Perfectly located for a first time trip to Venice, easy walking to shops and attractions. Very handy well stocked Grocery store next door , and steps from the water taxi to and from airport . Staff at front desk very helpful and reliable. The only reason it isn’t a perfect score was that we were there during a heat wave and the AC was struggling- but they promptly brought up a fan and it was exactly what was needed! I am a concierge and I would definitely stay here again !

Just came back from our trip in Venice. We are very satisfied with our stay. The rooms are clean, the location can not be more convenient, right next to Realto bridge, very good breakfast and extremely helpful staff. We had left our bag by accident in the room and Adil was extremely helpful in organizing to deliver it to the train station. When I called the hotel he was happy to help me. He went to the room and checked for my bag and it was there, he called me back and asked if I want it to be delivered to me. I said yes and in less than 10 minutes we were able to get it. Incredible people who care and did not let our trip to be unpleasant in any aspect!!Thank you EGO residence!

Wonderful hotel!!!
The Ego’ Residence is an amazing hotel! Perfectly located within steps of the Rialto bridge. The staff are fantastic and incredibly friendly! Especially, Edil, at the front desk. Service is at a high-level, they arrange to have our luggage brought up to our room without us even asking. Help with luggage in Venice is incredibly helpful! The hotel is in a 15th-century palace, located right on the grand Canal with its own dock. Hotels in Venice can be extremely expensive, and this hotel was priced very reasonably, although very beautiful and great service and great location! We loved our stay here and would definitely stay here if we returned to Venice. If you are American and expecting giant hotel rooms in Venice at any hotel, you need to adjust your expectations. Real estate in Venice is a premium, so rooms are smaller, but they are creatively appointed and decorated. This hotel absolutely gives you a wonderful Venice vibe in a fantastic location with fantastic service. We highly recommend!

Really great hotel for city break
Really great hotel, modern rooms in a traditional Italian building in an old museum. Ideal position right outside the Rialto bridge and 100m from the Alilaguna drop off. Staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Only 5 rooms in the hotel so a real personal touch. Rooms were refurbished to a modern style whilst retaining the Italian character. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Great location for a city break with loads of lovely quaint streets, shops, restaurants and cafes. Venice is a beautiful city to visit!

The property was in a prime, easy to find location near the Rialto Bridge, shopping, dining, and about a 10-minute walk to the piazza. They had great customer service and helped us get a water taxi to the train station. We loved being next to one of the small canals and be serenaded by some of the gondola’s passing by. The beds were comfortable, the room spacious and we appreciated the Venetian decor. We would stay here again!!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The staff was wonderful. We were able to check into the property early from our 10 hour flight which was great. Staff showed us to our room and showed how to use the AC and gave suggestions for transportation. The hotel even set up a water taxi for us from the airport. We didn’t eat breakfast here so can’t comment on the food. The location is perfect. Within minutes of the Rialto bridge and a 5-10 min walk to San Marco area. Water Bus location is in front of hotel. Room was clean. I wish we had a balcony but honestly we didn’t spend much time in the room except for sleeping. Room was quiet. There were stairs to walk to enter the building where our room was so make sure you are able to climb stairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Location and Service
Absolutely wonderful hotel just a very short walk to the Rialto Bridge. Right in the middle of everything you could want or need. A grocery store just a few doors down. Water taxi stand in the Grand Canal is right in front of the hotel. Communications with the staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant: they arranged our water taxi transport from both the Venice train station to the hotel, then from the hotel to the airport. Be aware that some of the rooms are on "intermediate" floors, and you will have to haul your luggage either up or down one flight of stairs from the lift stops. Very quiet; our room was on a side canal with literally a constant parade of gondolas passing below. Great temperature control and the bed was awesome. Huge room with plenty of space to spread out. Only tiny nit was the room only had a single USB port, but that's not enough to knock off even half a star.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this lovely and well located hotel. It was easy to find (a plus in Venice!) very near the Rialto Bridge. (We took the Vaporetti from the train station to the Rialto Bridge stop, and then it was an easy and short walk to the hotel.) The staff are very helpful and friendly, the bed and pillows comfortable, the bathroom well-appointed. It's easy to walk to major attractions from the hotel. They also have a nice breakfast room that has a wonderful view. (We didn't have the breakfast, but we did sit in the room for a coffee break, overlooking the canal.) We'd definitely stay here again.

Great location near the Ponte di Rialto which I realized is important for walking around Venice. Our room was quiet and the beds comfortable. The third bed for our teen daughter was a fold out but she was comfortable. We were on a canal but since we were three stories up, you can’t actually see the canal without sticking your head way out the window so I would not factor this into your room selection. The room had a Nespresso machine and a refrigerator with water provided. This was a nice amenity. We did not pay for breakfast but saw the breakfast room which did have a fantastic view of the Grand Canal. It looked like it was worth the additional charge. Additionally, the hotel staff gave us a cappuccino to go on the last morning.

The instructions sent by the staff via email and What's App ahead of our arrival were clear and made us feel welcome. The room and bathroom were comfortable. The location is great and surprisingly not noisy.

We loved our stay at EGO Residence! The room was beautiful, staff were excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is amazing less than 100 meters to the Rialto Bridge and water taxis and ferries at your door. We had an amazing time and if we are ever lucky enough to return to Venice we would most definitely be booking here again!

From the moment we arrived, Simone took excellent care of us. The hotel is literally at the water taxi stop so there was no dragging our luggage around to get to our hotel. Simone greeted us, took us to our room personally, accommodated our request for a fan, had our luggage carried up to our room because the elevator was out for a short while. Our in-room safe was not working and Simone quickly came up and evaluated it to see there was indeed an issue with it. The very same day they had the safe replaced. The room was in such a unique building with beautiful marble, a lovely view of the side canal, and a very spacious, well-doctorated room. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable as well! Thank you for a lovely stay in Venice!
