"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"A small group of modern appartments in a rural location with a great pool and stunning views. 20 min walk from village with good restaurants and shops. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Going breakfast available. The walk back from the village is steep but a taxi was 5 Euros. If you get the exact Google Maps location it is not difficult to find. "

"Overall it was a beautiful room and nice property with friendly staff and easy check in. The one recommendation is that the elevator lacked a door from the inside, which could be a safety hazard if something were to get caught. "

"Beautifully appointed room, comfortable bed, charming private (or shared depending on the room) terrace with umbrella, table and chairs. The proprietor is helpful but not obtrusive. The property is just a couple of very short blocks from the archeological museum and the old town. We are not shoppers but we saw many stores within an easy walk. Highly recommended. "

"This is the first five star review I've ever left for a hotel in Crete. The Lady who liked after us during the stay was amazingly kind, helpful and generous. The property is gorgeous and the apartments are incredibly well furnished & arranged. The pictures do not do them justice. The beach is literally across the road and the town square is a 4 minute walk. Many good restaurants just steps away. This should be on the top of everyone's list of places to stay when visiting Kalamaki."

"Tolle Unterkunft, Personal ist sehr freundlich und es fehlt einem an nichts. Leider gibt es keinen Strandabschnitt direkt am Hotel. Sondern man wird zu einem Partnerhotel gebracht und wenn gewünscht auch abgeholt (ca. 8min zu Fuß)."
