"The staff makes this hotel!! Sophie patiently waited for us and other guests arriving for a late check in. She was so lovely that once we got to our room, we decided we wanted to stay for a second night so Sophie moved us to another room so we could spend both nights in the same room. She kindly gave us ice from the restaurant which was closed upon request. She assisted in recommending a hotel for our next destination. "

"Lovely boutique room, so close to the centre of the old town, and easy walk from the station (10 minutes and this with luggage on wheels). Breakfast 8-10, well presented, nice breakfast in charming room. Our host, Anna, was terrific- easy check in, had already advised on best way for us to get from Domodossola to Milan/Malpensa airport when departing so we had out bus tickets booked and so easy transfer to the airport (bus from station, direct), and she provided all assistance requested. As we needed to leave early, she provided early breakfast, and then offered to drive us to the station- we didn’t need this but lovely offer. Domodossola a remarkable little town, Saturday markets take over the town, and bars, restaurants buzzing. We had great meals and wines, and the stay at NicoMat made it all so accessible with great host. And the train from Locarno to Domodossola a must!"

"Felt luxurious and special in every way; the family especially enjoyed the pool/s, spa and games room. We ate at both Brasserie 1809 and Spielboden by The Capra; from the stupendous breakfasts available and wide choice of delicious cuisine it was an undoubted highlight! "

"Beautiful, well-maintained, lovely, charming, quaint hotel! The breakfast area was so lovely (breakfast was delicious and plentiful and included), every little detail perfect. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great location - center of town. For our budget it was a little expensive - but well worth the price!! I would definitey stay there again. "

"Fantastic location - a 5 min flat walk to Brig Rail/Bus station and a slightly uphill walk to the town centre and Schlossalpenstock. Perfect for our plans for daily train trips (Brig has mainline connections across Switzerland and to Italy and is a station on the Glacier Express route from Zermatt to Andermatt, Chur and St Moritz). The dining areas offered a great selection of high quality options for breakfast and evening meals. All of the staff were professional, friendly and helpful and are clearly a great team. We chose the economy rooms and these were smaller than other rooms in the hotel but were still well equipped with really comfortable beds, en-suite shower room, TV, coffee machine and minibar and thoughtful touches such as a multi-country adaptor plug in the room and toothrbush/toothpaste in the shower room. My only minor issue (as a larger person!) was the shower cubicle entrance was very narrow - but, once inside, the shower was hot and powerful. "
