Opposite of corporate bland, this is a jewel!

this boutique Hotel earns every one of the stars and positive feedback it gets. The physical setting and location were exquisite. The staff made the whole experience a 10 out of 10.

Casa Ellul is a small gem with an excellent restaurant. The chef was able to devise an outstanding dinner for us based on our vegan requirements. The staff were extraordinarily helpful, even coming around a tea time with treats. The location is in the historic part of Valleta but is still very quiet. Recent renovations have restored the character of the building with a modern touch.

This sweet little boutique hotel within Old Town Valletta met our needs perfectly for three nights prior to boarding a cruise ship. They can arrange a shuttle from the airport for you so that door-to-door access is possible. Outstanding restaurant in-house (Risette). Great staff. We absolutely loved it.

I booked our trip to Malta and stay at Casa Ellul as a surprise birthday present for my wife, and for once I made the right choice! From the moment we arrived at Casa Ellul we were made to feel entirely at home by the wonderful staff. Our room was relaxing, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the location was the perfect base for our exploration of Valletta. The thoughtful little touches such as chocolates delivered to our room every afternoon and the friendly chats with the endlessly helpful staff made our stay everything we could have wanted. We will certainly be returning to Casa Ellul on our next trip to Malta.

Casa Elul Simply a wonderful experience. Despite my extremely late arrival, in the middle of the night, I received a warm welcome in this both cosy and extravagant hotel. It is undoubtedly the unexpected eclectic mixture of styles combined with the warm hospitality that changed this visit into something unforgettable. The spacious bedroom (announced as suite) is very tastefully equipped with all one needs for a short stay in the city. Free coffee, tea and water,combined with the luxurious bedding linen, great furniture and decoration, a well filled bar, a great and huge bathroom, all possible details... Perfect. The breakfast is à la carte and served by a staff that makes you feel welcome. Hard to beat! An unexpected experience for a very attractive price ! I really enjoyed my stay.

BEST Choice in Valletta

I travel solo and like to have some luxury when I travel. I also enjoy staying in the city centres and where possible and affordable I choose historic properties....if their walls could talk! Casa Ellul did not disappoint. Check in was quick and staff was very friendly and helpful especially Sladjana. I booked a room with a rooftop hot tub - what a treat to have after long days of sightseeing and walking the hilly streets! The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was divine with very personal attention provided by the servers. I appreciated the recommendation for a personal tour of Malta and Gozo - very qualified tour guide from Malta Holidays. And the transportation arrangements made to/from the airport was extremely helpful. And being right across from the Teatru Manoel during the Baroque Festival was beyond convenient. I highly recommend a stay at Casa Ellul.

I definitely expected more from this hotel. Having stayed in other Small Luxury Hotels, this one was a disappointment. The location was great and The View off the balcony was fantastic. My check-in was great, but the next day the front desk person didn't really understand or speak English. When I asked if he could speak any other languages he said only English. He was kind, respectful, and tried to be as helpful as possible, but it was very frustrating trying to communicate. Finally, we left in a hurry and so I left behind an article of clothing. I called them up and told them what it was and where it was. There was no question in my mind whether or not I had left it and I told them exactly where I had left it. Nonetheless, despite multiple phone calls, I was told that I had left nothing behind and tough luck because housekeeping must be telling the truth. Shameful for such a hotel.
