The room is clean, beautiful, and well-designed for functionality and harmony. There was a slight odor in the bathroom, but it disappeared after showering. The hotel is beautiful and offers free soup and drinks at all times, making the stay very convenient and comfortable.

I like the room style, it was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. One staff member went out of her way to make sure we went to the bus stop because we walked by it and didn’t realize it. She was awesome.

Don’t usually leave hotel reviews but want to make a special mention to Sakanushi San, she was incredibly helpful friendly and kind and made our stay even more comfortable and memorable in this beautiful part of the world. Great value for money

Excellent facility without much service. That’s the way it is designed. The bedding is great and the design is top notch. A bit spartan, but then again that’s the concept. It worked very well for us.

Peaceful, rural setting with the best hospitality!

This was one of our favourite hotels that we stayed at in Japan and it was because of the hospitality! These lovely folks went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and looked after from a detailed hotel orientation to booking us taxis for the next days travel. It is located about 25 mins outside of Utsunomiya central but offers the solace of a rural escape. They have all of the amenities you can think of from a self-serve espresso maker in the lobby to a self-serve affordable laundry room. The only downside due to its rural nature is the lack of dining options, but it's not hard to get into the downtown area as needed by taxi. It was the perfect retreat while we attended our MotoGP race weekend!

Nice stay in the countryside

A nice property away from the city centre for those who'd enjoy hiking and the countryside. The farmer's market is fun. There are also restaurant options within walking distance. It is a short drive to the city centre where you can find lots of restaurants and shopping. The rooms were clean and modern. Check-in was smooth. Staff was friendly. The room design is not exactly designed for non-couples but there are movable partitions that worked out fine. The ample space and pantry in the G/F communal area that allows eating and gathering. Free fresh coffee and tea throughout the day too.

Tolles Hotel! Die Lage ist super, um Nikko und Utsunomiya per Auto zu erkunden. Die Einrichtung wirkt sehr stilvoll und wertig. Das Zimmer ist für japanische Verhältnisse sehr groß und die Idee, das Badezimmer via Schiebewände bei Bedarf offen zu gestalten, ist sehr clever. Das Bett und die Kissen waren sehr bequem. Es gibt Waschmaschine & Trockner sowie eine gemeinschaftlich nutzbare Küche samt Kaffeemaschine in der Lobby.
