"Pleasant reception staff on arrival. Room a good size and had a great view over the lake. Would stay there again if in the area. My pet peeve is where the range of pump soap/conditioner etc are mounted in poor locations. It was difficult for me to use the soap dispenser beside the hand basin as it had been installed against the frame of the mirror. It was no deal breaker, just a peeve!"

"Leumeah Lodge is a fairly new hotel under the YMCA. My family and I (4 adults) had one room with 2 queen sized beds to ourselves. The room was spacious enough and the toilet is behind a door, separated from the shower place. Convenient for a family of four trying to get ready in the morning. Although the hotel is about 15-20mins away from the central of Canberra, there is a Maccas and Caltex located nearby (7 mins walk) and it is an easy drive back to the city. Lovely 1920s building, helpful staff, attractive bar, good location for many sites and on a number of bus routes (Canberra is not a very pedestrian-friendly city). Only quibble would be that, as one of the, possibly the, leading hotel(s) in the Commonwealth capital, a wider selection of Australian wines, and notably some from the smaller wine regions (for example, Beechworth, VIC) could be available."

"Nice size family room, however needs more attention to detail in the room. Ie our room was missing pans to cook, the hair dryer was broken, missing a few glasses. Also our room wasn't cleaned despite putting the sign up asking for a clean. However the location was really good, right next to restaurants, fast food, shopping, public transport, rooms were clean. The help yourself cupboard for supplies ie teas, milk, towels etc is a great idea!"

"The room felt muggy in spite of turning down the temperature and opening windows, we could not sleep. Soon after arrival there was loud drilling next door as they did repairs, then a strange man knocked on the door because he wanted to check our toilet for "stickers." The breakfast was a huge disappointment. We stayed here some years ago and remembered it as great but alas it is now the same wet eggs and soggy bacon you can get anywhere.
