Could do better!
Srimali's Residence has plenty of potential but it's the small things the owners need to look at. On the positive side, the rooms are big, as are the bathrooms, the location is fine, ten minutes walk to the beach and a couple of minutes to the bus stop into Galle, pleasant surroundings with the occasional monkey sighting and plenty of stripy squirrels. Breakfast was OK and the family friendly.
When we arrived only two of our three rooms had a towel. Safes were on the tables but not secured so not really any use. No hot water (it came sporadically) and my room had very poor water pressure. Although the toilet had bum sprays, it would have been nice if they'd supplied toilet tissue as well, and there were no toiletries whatsoever nor drinking water. Little things that could make this place so much nicer at minimal cost to the owners. The lady had no idea of the wifi password on our arrival so we had to wait until the next morning to get it. It should be left somewhere in the room, It was decent value, despite this. I am in the guesthouse business so I hope the owner does look at this review as constructive criticism.
