I had a lovely stay; the location is super, the staff very friendly, good breakfast & lovely pool! The oasis of the garden offers a quiet break from the busy town & streets. Walking distance from the restaurants, beach, supermarket & shops. I would not hesitate to book again!

Beautiful hotel located in a green garden with palms and leafy trees. Very quiet place, rooms are far from the road. The main noisemakers are chipmunks jumping on the roofs and munching on your fruits if you accidentally left it outside. Once I had a dinner there and I enjoyed the food. The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. I didn’t expect my calls will be answered at 4am when I arrived. However the hotel manager Jude was waiting for me and escorted me to my room. He also helped me with my PCR to travel back to Dubai. Water Anuradhapura greeted us every morning for breakfast, and Sanjula was helpful not only with the meal choice, but also he helped me to decide which beach do I go first and how do I get there. Overall, very much recommended!

A self-contained jungle paradise.

This is an amazingly atmospheric place, which feels like an oasis compared to the beachfront places with their noisy crowded streets. And the food is really excellent. A great value.

Natur og hotel i samhørighed

Et fantastisk beliggende lille hotel, men en have fuld af dyr, lige udenfor i haven, der var det, der var behov for ellers købte vi det i de små lokale butikker, ikke et luksus hotel, men lige et i vores smag, vi spise morgenmad på hotellet, og aftensmaden, blev indtaget i nogle af de mange restauranter der var i området.

Excellent peaceful hotel in great location. Friendly helpful staff, surrounded in wonderful grounds. The old Dutch feel is throughout the whole complex and adds to the ‘vintage’ atmosphere of the place . I would say this is the best hotel in the area , and very reasonably priced . In the older rooms , the bathrooms could do with upgrading though

Lovely staff, beautiful historic building, garden and wildlife were fascinating, pool was a great facility, and easy walk and connections to town, beach and Galle. A La Carte menu was rather limited, but I guess a lot of people go out to eat. Special set menu on our first night (of 3) was excellent, though.

Ok tre stjärnigt hotell

Helt ok hotell. Vi bodde i den äldre delen av hotellet. En del myror och insekter kom in i rummet,ok för oss. Men är man rädd för små kryp så boka de lite dyrare rummen på den nybyggda delen. Bra frukost. Vi är veganer och det fanns alltid något till oss. Tre sorters frukt varje dag. Trädgården är fin men kunde vara mycket finare om den var lite bättre omhändertagen. Personalen hann inte städa undan alla löv som föll ned. Vi såg apor,ödlor och en fina fåglar i trädgården. Nära till stranden. Ca 10 min promenad. Restaurangen hade fin mat,dock lite dyrare än andra restauranger i området.

Underbart & charmigt hotell med ljuvlig trädgård

Vi hade 4 fantastiska dagar på detta hotell. Vi var så glada i hotellet så vi inte ens hängde på stranden en enda gång under dessa dagar. Poolen och trädgården var heeeelt fantastiska. Bland de finaste trädgårdarna jag sett! Poolen var lång och lugnt med människor. Personalen var exceptionell, man kände sig verkligen som en del av en familj. De hade grym massage och ayurveda konsultation. Vi bodde i det billigaste rummet som var något litet och sängen var lite hård men helhetsupplevelsen av hotellet vägde upp mot det. Kan verkligen rekommendera detta hotell :)

Excellent stay from start to finish

We stayed here for a couple of nights near the end of August and initially our room had quite a bad damp smell. They offered us as change of room which was much fresher and couldn't do enough to assist us throughout our stay. It is in the most beautiful idyllic setting and the pool is awesome. Thoroughly recommend this stay and a massive thanks to all the friendly helpful staff. Luke and Hannah

Beautiful old property former residence of Dutch

Beautiful property set in ground with wild life around, monitor lizard, monkeys, mongoose and different species of birds. 5 minute walk away from beach and restaurants.

ALPTRAUM im Economy Zimmer

Von außen hui von innen pfui. Zumindest was die Economy Zimmer betrifft. Ich hatte Zimmer 1was direkt an die Küche grenzt. Alte durchgelegene Matratze, kein vernünftiger Kleiderschrank stattdessen eine Stange mitten im Zimmer zum Aufhängen der Kleidung. KEIN Warmwasser vorhanden. Auch nicht beim Duschen. Alles total abgewöhnt, enge Raumberhältnisse. Alles war schmuddelig, teilweise Stockflecken oder Schimmel an der Wand. Kein Handtuchhalter oder Haken im Bad. Als Seifenanlage diente ein alter Unterteller. Kein Zimmersafe vorhanden. WLAN war sehr miserabel, teils zu langsam für WhatsApp. Total verranzte Toilettenbrille und und und. Einzig schön war der Garten mit dem schön angelegten Teich.

We had big family room. Room was very basic, no tv or fridge. You can rent fridge for extra charge. Cleaning was good and staff friendly. 5-10min walk to the beach. Kids loved pool.

CHOOSE YOUR ROOM CAREFULLY

The hotel staff were very friendly and the outside area (pools, sitting areas and tables) were also nice! We were initially in an older room and it was horrible due to the bugs. The bathroom had lots of openings which allowed 5 large cockroaches into our room, it was disgusting. The room had many holes so bugs easily got into our room, which made the stay uncomfortable. They moved us to another room the second night which was still one of the older rooms but was a bit better. Still many holes in the foundation which allowed for bugs. I would ONLY recommend staying in one of the newer rooms. Would NOT recommend staying in the older rooms, they look nothing like the pictures.

Very friendly hotel with excellent restaurant

It was a surprise to find that most of the other guests were Danish - there is a special arrangement with a Danish travel company. The location was good, very quiet at night but just a short walk from the beach. The swimming pool was great. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ate dinner almost every evening because the food was excellent and there was a good variety.

Very nice hotel

the room price is good compared to service and quality. It's clean, a good and friendly welcome with complementary juice at arrival. The restaurant has a good selection of foods that are very tasty and well presented.

Good hotel but ants in your room

This hotel as a decent location.. you will need a tuk tuk to get to the main city (around 10 mins). Hotel is old but clean... friendly staff and okay breakfast. Nice pool! The only problem was ants... a lot of ants IN the room. They should really try and fix that.

Family room is perfect for 4 people. And like the garden, lotus pool very much, very stay hotel for hours and safari the garden, find many birds, flogs, squirrels, and lizard....
