"This small boutique property is beautiful, well built and impeccably designed. It is so close to being the perfect high-end micro hotel it wants to be, that it is such a shame that it misses the mark. The hotel has no staff from noon to 4:30. You cannot arrive between those times and to make matters worse they will charge you if you arrive earlier and want to check in. This means that if you arrive anytime before 4:30pm you are screwed even if your room is ready. This is a problem because there...

"Had a wonderful stay at Castello di Ugento. The property is truly unique — a beautifully restored historic castle that feels intimate rather than overwhelming. The room is elegant and comfortable, and the atmosphere in the castle is peaceful. What stood out most was the attention to detail and the warmth of the team. Service is thoughtful and personal without being overly formal. The culinary experience is also a highlight — you can really feel the focus on local ingredients and quality. "Local family host, very friendly and nice. The swimming pool is also very nice. I think the highlight is the friendliness of Daniela and Arianna. Private parking was very easy. Notes: No safe in the room. You need a car to move around, in particular at night! Short drive to beaches though, and we always found parking as early June so not too tourist-busy (can’t comment for say July/August). "
