Restos del castillo de Uclés (provincia de Cuenca, España)

Vista del Monasterio de Uclés en la cima del cerro de El Portillo. Fue construido entre el siglo XVI y XVII sobre los restos del castillo musulmán (a la derecha del castillo). Debido al largo periodo de construcción tiene elementos platerescos, herrerianos y churrigueresco. Fue construido por la Orden de Santiago cuya casa central (Caput Ordinis) se encontraba allí. Para su construcción se utilizaron materiales de la antigua ciudad romana de Segobriga.

El conquense Francisco de Mora, en plena madurez artística, construye el magnífico edificio, del total agrado de Felipe II (1598). En la construcción de la iglesia trabajó como cantero de Francisco de Luna, suegro de Andrés de Vandelvira.
