Lovely staff and management, very helpful in spite of the language barrier. Amazing breakfast, but you must arrive on time. Clean and tidy throughout the hotel. Laundry facilities were great for my needs. Wi-Fi was strong and always worked for me. It was a 5-7 minute walk from the conference center, but away from the other hotels listed by the conference management team. It's an older building, but still very pleasant and quiet. I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel, especially because I took a gamble on it with only one review in English to read. With only one picture on the hotels.com website, googling the hotel made it possible to find more pictures.
Friendly staff. Breakfast was nice and plenty to choose from. Small, but satisfactory rooms. Tiny bathrooms...but, it's not an expensive place. Wi-fi worked well.
The people operating the hotel were the high point. They were very nice and very helpful. The breakfast, by my standards, was of fantastically high quality, perhaps the best I have ever had in any hotel in any country. The location was 10 minutes on foot to the Tsukuba Congress center, which is where my event was. I found several restaurants within a short walk, and at least one was excellent. There was a nice smaller mall called "Lala" within walking distance, including a very nice grocery store, clothing shops, restaurants, etc.
The room was clean. I accepted a smoking room, although not a smoker, because there were very few hotel rooms available the week of my stay. The room had windows that opened, and with them closed it was pretty quiet inside. I found everything I needed, like extra toothbrush etc., already provided in the room, and extra supplies of all kinds were available in the lobby. There is a 7-11 ten minutes by foot, important for international ATM access and freshly-made coffee. International ATM's are not so plentiful in that town, so this is rather important. The bathroom was a little small, but adequate, with a very deep tub. My initial problem was that there was no sign in English identifying the building as a hotel, it was necessary to guess and confirm. There is a bamboo-leaf-type symbol on the building exterior, but no name in English. The "relaxation room" was a very nice touch. Not a super-fancy building, but comfortable. I'd stay there again.
Hotel was functional. Room was pretty worn down and bathroom had some mould around the edges. Staff were friendly and polite but not much English. Breakfast was very good (Japanese style not western)
