Explore a historic town centre that could date back as far as the late 9th century, making Trnava one of the oldest towns in Slovakia. The town’s boom era was during the 16th century, when it enjoyed commercial success and growing religious importance.
Follow the trail of the Town Walls, which provides a vantage point over the town centre, or climb the City Tower. Some stretches of the walls date back to the 13th century, while the tower is a Gothic masterpiece from 1574. The best views of the tower are from the spacious town square, which is surrounded by cafés and restaurants with outdoor seating.
