Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize that building fire alarm went off in the morning during your stay with us. Upon city fire department investigation it was determined that this alarm was caused by a person smoking inside our non-smoking building, and this person was fined by the city of Toronto. Please note that as per city of Toronto fire code all high rise buildings in Toronto are equipped with fire alarms, and those alarms are to be tested every month. Fire alarms are a very important safety feature and they very often save lives. Notices are posted in the building lobby advising when monthly fire alarm system tests will take place. We sincerely apologize that the monthly fire alarm system tests inconvenienced you. Please note that there are 2 security guards on duty at the security desk in the lobby of our building 24 hours a day, every day to provide safe and secure environment and assist in case of emergency. Guards would have gladly updated you on any building related issue should you have reached out to them. Please note that our operations manager resides in the same building to assist our guests every day from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Our records indicate that as soon as our manager was on duty, our manager personally attended at your suite, but you were already gone. Our records indicate that since you were arriving early in the morning and paid for an early check-in you were upgraded to a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. Our records indicate that the suite was thoroughly inspected by our Cleaning Team Supervisor prior to your arrival. According to our standard operating procedure multiple photographs were taken of the prepared suite prior to your arrival. Upon your departure the suite was inspected by our cleaning team supervisor and the toaster with burnt bottom (as well as pieces of that burnt toaster) were discovered. Several photographs were emailed to you. We are committed to providing 5 star service and a spotless suite to each guest. We understand that mistakes happen and that perhaps the toaster was burnt unintentionally. As a courtesy to you, we waived the replacement charge for the burnt toaster and refunded your deposit in full back to your credit card. We would appreciate you reconsidering your comments and letting us accommodate you again in our stunning suites, so that you can experience our high standard of true Canadian hospitality at the Bellamond Yorkville. Kindly note that there are light switches near kitchen cabinets that control the build-in pot-lights as well as the wall mounted light fixtures. Kindly note that there are cleaning products (Windex, Lysol toilet bowl cleaner, Pine Sol, Clorox Wipes and a paper towel roll) inside the kitchen closet (next to the washer and dryer machine). Kindly note that since this is a brand new building the bath tubs are made from an eco-friendly material and unlike the old style metal tubs they might sound different when someone is taking a shower. Our associate is on duty at the building every other day and it will be our pleasure to show you where the light switches are located and where cleaning supplies are located. Kindly note that we offer top of the line double beds (that are industry standard) in our junior suites and kindly note that bed size is listed on Expedia.com. Our records indicate that it was corrected in approximately 7 minutes and our records also indicate that when our on-site guest services associate resolved the issue and apologized to you, you told her "no worries at all".
