"Lovely hotel, I would question the 5 star rating though. It's definitely 5 star for Santa Susanna, it's by far the nicest place in town but compared to other 5 star hotels, this falls short.
The good - the hotel itself is really nice, well designed, good bars and restaurants, nice gardens and pools etc. The food in the buffet for breakfast was delicious, plentiful and so much choice. Good choice of drinks and snacks in the bars. The staff are wonderful, very helpful and friendly. The room was clean, bed comfortable, nice view from the balcony, nicely designed.
The not so good - the hotel has a bit of an identity crisis, is it a conference hotel, is it a family hotel, is it a luxury resort hotel? It needs to decide because trying to tick all of those boxes is its downfall. There were two conferences when we were there, they took over the cabaret bar, breakfast, it changed the vibe of the hotel and not in a good way. For families, there were good pools for little ones but didn't seem to be much else. Although there was kids entertainment right up to 10pm in the cabaret bar which meant it was pretty much empty as adults went elsewhere. It's also not a luxury resort as the sunbeds are shockingly uncomfortable, beach towels were average and there was not nearly enough demarcation between the adults only section and the kids section. Also luxury hotels don't have very loud animation in the pool!
Regardless of all that, we had a great time but we wouldn't return"
"We had a great stay at this location. The only downside to this place is you have to pay to use the jacuzzi and fitness center. This was not clear when I booked our stay. If you plan on using the jacuzzi or fitness center, you will have to pay as well as pay another fee to use a towel. Other than this, we had a great time."
"What a wonderful experience we had! Although we only stayed for one night, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was beautiful, and our room was spotless and comfortable.
What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional staff. On our last morning, we missed breakfast due to jet lag. As we were checking out, the reception staff kindly offered to serve us breakfast anyway. They went above and beyond, filling our table with a variety of delicious local specialties for us to enjoy.
Their generosity and hospitality made our stay unforgettable. We left feeling truly grateful and would gladly return in the future."
"Positives are: (1) the priceless views, (2) the helpful staff, (3) the investment in an ocean view room with balcóny (our room number was 278). Negatives for us were (1) the availability of coffee on site, (2) the price of breakfast and the limited menu on site. Solutions for us were (1) taking the stairs down the hill to the coffee bar on the beach for half price espressos, (2) walking down the beach to another beach cafe - it was a long walk toward town to bigger bay (decend street sidewalk at right side of Cale de Pi resort and take path toward town), (3) walking into the town (20 ish min fairly level walk) or taking taxi there, and (4) taking taxi to Paloma (which is more of a village but it’s also a port stop, so it’s worth seeing). Enjoy :)"
"This is a four-star doing its best to become a three-star. Staff is utterly indifferent to requests. The Spa is only accessible via Whatsapp message that never gets returned. The breakfast buffet is good, if not great. The dining space is quite nice, with great water views. Bed is very comfortable. However, the so-called sea view rooms mostly overlook the pool, with distant views of water."
"I absolutely loved my stay at Golden Bahia. The location was perfect for exploring the town and the beautiful beaches. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. A huge thank you to the staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my trip. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!"
