"A really nice backpackers hostel. The rooms were well put together and warm during the winter. Lots of space in the kitchen and lounge and bathrooms are being renovated. Staff were really helpful and hospitable - I'd stay here again, for sure. One of the most comfortable places I have stayed on my trip through NZ."

"Not the fanciest place and quite shabby in parts but it was clean, the bed was comfy and I slept well. Well priced and conveniently located with a very helpful friendly manager. "

"Lovely place to stay with friendly staff. Great airport drop off service. Good Thai restaurant nearby for takeout. Beach is a short walk away. Bed was comfy. No external windows in the private queen bed room I was in, but a fan was provided. I’d stay here again :)"

"The place was REALLY dirty and full of flies. It was full of long termers (really nice and friendly people) and it seemed fun place to stay if you were working somewhere close but as a traveller it wasn't so pleasant when the dorm room door was open and there were a lot of people from another rooms just hanging out. "

"Clean, comfortable and good value. We stayed in the apartment which was spacious and had a great balcony looking out over Havelock. It's not The Ritz, but it's unpretentious and friendly and I would certainly stay there again"

"Good kitchen staff but the room’s toilet was smelly. I vomited twice every time i went to the toilet, on the first night itself. The pungent smell was really strong. I called reception at 3 am wanted to change room but no one picked up. The next morning, i had to buy electric scented oil warmer to reduce the pungent smell. "
