A great stay at a lovely chateau, facilities are very good and the staff are wonderful. A good nights sleep . The restaurant was lovely, good food and value, a nice breakfast as well, with a hot option.
Many thanks to you all.
Beautiful hotel set in picturesque, well maintained grounds. Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Excellent for a stop over before or after the channel crossing. Pool was clean and lovely and the breakfast was excellent and great value. 5 stars all round.
A hidden Gem, perfectly positioned for a rest over ahead of our return crossing to the UK, Fantastic Staff, rooms, accommodated our little ones can't fault it at all, will definitely be returning
This is a 4 Star experience disguised as a 3 Star hotel. Tastefully Clean rooms - extremely comfortable beds and bedding lovely garden at the restaurant and beautiful grounds which compliment the hotel. Awesome staff.
Staff orientated us well. The pool was deep, so if you are taking young children they will need a float. The room only has coffee and herbal teas so if you want English breakfast tea bring it separately. Lovely clean and spacious well kept rooms. Very comfy beds. Lovely balcony. Gorgeous breakfast. Lots of choice.
This hotel is ideally situated for the Calais if you have an early crossing to UK or a late crossing into France. The room in the chateau was ‘compact’ with a comfortable bed. We enjoyed the grounds and the swimming pool. The dinner in the restaurant was fine but not inspiring.
Chateau Tilques is located a few miles north of Saint-Omer in a small village. The Hotel comprises a Chateau style hotel and grounds, with an external annex of rooms of some size. I stayed in the annex which was comfortable and well decorated. Some minor issues were irritating. The key-light master switch by the door was hard to locate and too complex to insert the key card to turn on the electricity in the room. Trying to do a fiddly task in the dark is irritating. There was no proper light switch next to the bed, and the tiny switch for the small reading lamp was hidden in the dark. The shower tray allowed water to overflow into the bathroom. Stylish work with inadequate thought about practicality, allowing design to trump practicality for a hotel. Most disappointing was the restaurant, which was now of modern design and soulless, a great change from its traditional charming appearance on my last visit many years ago, fondly remembered. With table cloths. The menu was limited and the food was not exceptional, although the gazpacho was delicious. This is a functional decent quality hotel, but with some amendments could once again be exceptional. Low rating given to reflect these factors.
Nice stop ahead of return to UK, we had dog and they have dog friendly rooms. Clean, lovely grounds, staff very welcoming, good food.
Not particularly cheap but if you are heading back from Alps or south of France and want somewhere close to tunnel it’s a brilliant option
The hotel is nicely styled with quiet corners and beautiful grounds. The room we had was simple but very comfortable and quiet. Looking forward to coming back.
