"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "Charming hotel with a great feeling of history, both inside and out. Excellent breakfast with many menu choices and warm, helpful staff. Comfortable bar with well-made beverages."

"Parking was good, right outside our room. Staff were very friendly and nice. There was a good choice for breakfast of cooked and cereal. The room was clean, did notice a couple of spiders, one small one in the bath which was easily washed down the bath and one above the wardrobe storage, which didn't cause any problems. The light in the mirror one side had dimmed. Very central to York 1/2 and hour and 1 hour from Bridlington. There is a manned bar, but on Wednesday night it wasn't open which was a disappointment. They only serve breakfast now, and the sign on the motel says that it has a restaurant which is incorrect. Based based right on a main road, traffic can only be heard first thing in the morning."

"This is one of the best places we've stayed in for a long time. It was convenient to where we wanted to be, the room was clean and a good size but the thing that gets a 5 star review from us is the lovely staff. Katy and Chloe were exceptionally lovely, very helpful, friendly and welcoming to everyone. Katy was great with checking in and was our waitress in the evening, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Chloe was around in the mornings for breakfast shift. I saw her dealing with a family with extra needs and she was superb in her handling of those needs. I came away feeling that I would definitely like to stay there again, unlike a few other places we've stayed at. I hope that Marstons give Chloe and Katy a bonus for a 5 star review, and to be honest the rest of the team deserve a little something too as they were all friendly, but these two deserve an extra pat on the back :)"

"Very enjoyable stay. Only there for one night, fantastic, central location. On the top floor, amazing views. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Bed comfy. Breakfast was included, which was good, far better than I'd expected. I would definitely be happy to stay again."
