"We got there just after 6pm. The place was open but there is no reception, nor was anyone there to greet us and no phone number to call. Fortunately there was a couple of guys staying there who were able to call someone who let us into our room. I couldn’t remember if this was a pay at property or if we had prepaid so I asked the guy who told me we owed €75. "what was once a truely stunning building in the centre of vallencines, this lovely characterful building is showing signs of a tiny bit of TLC. Everything was spot on but just missing the mark somehow"

"Not a traditional hotel, but an excellent place to stay. Rooms were very clean, beds very nice and the whole set up with a bar on the grounds and park in the back of the property really great (especially with our dog). Easy street parking, a couple of 'fast food' options in easy walking distance (and more restaurants a short drive away). Only thing - if you do have a dog, some of the rooms are on the 2nd floor and the stairs are open backed and the flooring a 'metal lattice' type grating. No problem for humans with shoes, but our 40 kg greyhound found it a bit tricky. The hosts really tried to help find us another room on the ground floor but they were full. If we had known, we'd just have worked that out in advance."
