Chalets in Thouarsais

"Wherever we stay, the quality of the welcome and of the service we receive is the single most important thing. And here it was wonderful. From checking in to checking out staff couldn’t do enough - friendly, helpful, informative. The hotel itself is a beautiful building based around a lovely garden where we at each morning. We arrived with a big dog who was clearly as welcome as us (one of the managers brings his dog to work). The room was clean and spacious, the bed comfortable and reasonably large and - importantly given the weather and unusually for so many hotels - the air conditioning was first rate. The pool is small but more than enough to cool off before sitting in the shade with a beer. The hotel is on the outskirts of Saumur, but only 5 minutes walk to the centre. Saumur itself is lovely - small enough to be accessible, large enough to feel lively. Lots of history in the town and nearby (Angers, Chinon, Blois). All in all we had a wonderful stay. "

"The reception was outstanding. We arrived early and were made to feel most welcome. The room is large, modern and lovely. Everything is first class, bedding, towels , etc. Breakfast was great and plenty of options. The hotel is a pleasant short walk from the old town centre. Parking is very limited but not an issue. There always seems to be free street parking right outside the hotel. A lovely stay all round."

"Great village with interesting church and chateau within walking distance of hotel. Lovely courtyard at hotel. Had supper sitting outside. Limited menu but the galettes were delicious ! Room slightly cramped but comfortable. Excellent breakfast included. Great value all round!"

"Very poor attension to opening the breakfast times. I was to open at 7am, but didnt open until 7.45 on a Monday before our teams work. Poor selection of breakfast, no taking care of damp towels in room or the room when returning. Would assume there was cleaning to take place the days I stayed. Over payed for the price it was "

"Superb accommodation. Beautifully considered mix of the old and the new. I have stayed her a number of times and LOVE it. The greatest pleasure was to have sole access to the whole Abbaye when the public left. MAGICAL. The erastuiarant is also very special."

"Everything was wonderful. I stayed there 5 days and tried everything, le petit déjeuner delicious, le dîner incredible ! Only thing I didn’t know is that I had to pay extra to enjoy the jacuzzi (why isn’t it included ?). I needed it to warm up bc coming from Miami, the drop in temperature was brutal :). But it’s ok I still loved it ! Thank you !"
