Great relaxing place! Great service, food, clean room but it’s faraway from everything really. Would recommend there to be a pool and bar! Otherwise they were great and provided my sister with a lovely birthday cake!
The Yala adventure is a very relaxing place to stay. It is very peaceful and the butterflies abundant. It is definitely the place to rest and relax. The tent and bathroom were very clean and the most comfortable bed we have had in Sri Lanka. There is nothing at all nearby to do, it is about 10km out of Tissa so you have to eat all meals at the hotel. Food selection is very tasty, but small portions and no extras eg order soup, a very small bowl of soup but no bread or anything to go with it.
The view from the top of the He tower is a great place to sip on a beer watching sunset over the lake.
They could use some more comfortable chairs to relax in, everything has a very straight back.
Staff were very attentive and kind.

Quiet lake edge countryside
Our tent accommodation was amazingly comfortable - even air conditionied! Lakeside location afforded opportunities for walks and bird watching. The small number of staff were helpful arranging transport into town. We were disappointed at the lack of upkeep of the grounds, although the butterflies loved the vegetation! The food/drink menu was minimal, but adequate; however, very hot conditions in the open air dining area (& lots of flies).
This is lovely place to stay for a visit to Yala. It's very quiet on the edge of Lake Yoda. There is a superb open sided reception area overlooking the lake and organic vegetable garden. Ecology is one of the key themes of the hotel and a member of the team is responsible for this. We stayed in one of the luxury tents, the only real similarity to camping is you have to zip up the door and if it rains it's very loud on the roof . Otherwise apart from the open setting it's like a large comfy hotel room with a generous bathroom and shower and a/c. The staff are all extremely welcoming and helpful. They organised and took us on our Yala safari where we were lucky to see a leopard and an elephant as well as many other animals and birds. The bird life on the site is very good especially early in the morning. We also hired bikes for a small fee.
Staff very friendly and eager to please. Offered activities like archery and rappelling for free, there were canoos and a boat for a trip on the lake.
Good food, BBQ on the beach one night, provided boxed lunches when we went on an early morning safari in Yala. Very relaxing atmosphere away from town.
Some minor details like no shower curtain (leaves bathroom floor wet), and a gap between the window frame and the wall (small lizzards and a frog entered) leave room for a little adjustment.
