While travelling through Laos, Pakse is typically just a stop-over point on your way between Savannakhet and Don Det or the Cambodian boarder. People rarely stay longer than a night or two, but it's actually a very nice place, worth spending a few days at least. As a bonus, there are a few South Indian restaurants in town as well, and every one we tried was top notch!
