Malvan is a small town not far from the commercialised Goa and has a certain charm including quality fresh fish which one can pick at jaw dropping price. This beach offers a unique feature which is that one can drive for 8 kilometres across 3 beaches and visit the evening fish market and bid for your choice of fish.
Sindurga (meaning Ocean Fort), was built in 1664 by the great 17th century Maratha King, Shivaji. You will be awed at the the majestic fort and wonder how stupendous the task would have been in that era in the midst of the sea. Even today you can only access it during calm weather using boats.
