The Palazzo Rosso is a magnificent structure housing one of Genoa’s most important art galleries. Dating back to the 17th century, the palace belonged to the affluent Brignole-Sale family, before becoming a public gallery. Capture photos of the building’s iconic red façade decorated with sophisticated green and white shutters and terraces.

The Spianata Castelletto is a viewpoint over the historic center with fantastic 360 degree views. Use the historic art nouveau lift to reach the “balcony” from where you can try to identify landmarks in the picturesque Old Town of Genoa.

The White Palace (Palazzo Bianco) is one of the main buildings in the center of Genoa. Discover a beautiful landmark that together with the Red Palace (Palazzo Rosso) and Palazzo Doria Tursi, form part of a very important cluster of museums in the city.

The beautiful Palazzo di San Giorgio is one of Genoa’s most impressive landmarks. Stand outside and appreciate its ornate, colorful façade, which depicts St. George and the Dragon in a swirling frenzy. These days, the building is the home of the offices of the Port Authority of Genoa. It also has an exhibition space that hosts a changing array of exhibits throughout the year.

The old city of Genoa is teeming with impressive 16th-century mansions, yet the only one which has been converted into a gallery is the National Ligurian Gallery at the Spinola Palace. Add this to your itinerary to see some of the city’s most acclaimed paintings hanging on the walls of the decadent rooms of the mansion. Walk elegant hallways where the marble floors and high, frescoed ceilings are as beautiful as the framed artworks on display.

The Palazzo Doria Tursi is one of Genoa’s most regal buildings. It is the most majestic of the palaces located along Via Grimaldi, and makes up one third of a trio of palaces which together are known as the Strada Nuova Museums. Visit to experience the opulence of medieval Genoa and to see, housed in the vast halls, items such as a violin belonging to Niccolò Paganini.
