Alava Province
The plaza de la Virgen or the Old Square, is the main meeting point of Vitoria-Gasteiz. It is located between the neighbourhoods of Casco Viejo and the Eixample. It is surrounded by white houses and on the centre square, is located a monument in memory of the Battle of Vitoria (1813), an episode of the War of Independence.
