"These beautiful grounds and lodgings quickly became a destination resort for us. We were content to relax in the privacy of the exquisite gardens in silence. The hosts were so considerate; after serving a delicious home cooked breakfast they just retreated and we were alone to enjoy the remainder of the day. "It was cheap, but I will spend more next time. Things are pretty old and worn. The room reeked of stale cigarette smoke, and there was a lot of road noise from a nearby freeway. The air conditioning system showed an error, and didn’t appear to operate. The guy at the front desk did give me some air freshener to mask the odor in the room. No breakfast, just coffee, which I did not try."

"5 star experience across the board for the stay. the food was excellent but being that i have stayed at higher end hotels than this I would not be honest in saying its the best i've ever had but for this level of hotel it truly is great. everything is cooked on site and mostly fresh."

"Our stay started with a 15 minute wait for someone to show up to the front desk. Immediately upon dropping our luggage in the room, a panel fell off the wall exposing cords and wires. We couldn't get it back on. The shampoo and conditioner in the shower weren't working so I had to pry them off the wall to get them to work.
