"Where to start, the moment you walk in, you are greeted with multiple Nova Scotian smiles. Warm vibe, chic, with an extra boost of artistry and whimsy for all. The restaurant serves some of the best food ever! They offer complementary, delicious refreshers for guests, along with the best coffee and hot chocolate daily, and a wide variety of snacks for those late night munchies. While all working here have been outstanding, I must say, Sean and Bella, go above and beyond - from excellent service, outstanding knowledge of the menu and, just so lovely, kind and like all here - incredibly beautiful people.  The rooms are cozy, the rain shower is a game changer, and no carpet on floors along with very meticulous cleaning made my sleeps a lot more sound and very comfortable.  Location is perfect - you can literally walk anywhere, and when you come back to your hotel at night - there will always be happy, shiny people, to make you feel safe and welcome! "Comfy beds, good breakfast, great location. Up the slope from the harbor, close to the Scotia Center where we enjoyed an ice show, and the Citadel Park. Fun quick visit to Halifax and this Hampton had everything we needed for a great central stay at a very good rate. Under 15 minutes' walk to most everywhere we wanted to go including Pizza Corner off Market St for late night poutine, donair, pizza. One we tried, PizzaPizza, had cauliflower crust as well as gluten free options, and Willy's poutine window had terrific takeaway dishes of fries with your choice of toppings from vegan gravy to pulled pork. Easy downhill stroll to the Art Gallery with Maud Lewis exhibit, Stardust a sweet and friendly small LBGTQ+ bar that welcomed us for creative latenight cocktails, and the Waterfront Park with the wonderful Salt & Ash restaurant and a Peace by Chocolate shop. Nice breakfast staff with a good range of breakfast options, and round the clock hot coffee tea cocoa station in the lobby. Pool looked nice but didn't have time to use it"

"The Good: It was available on short notice after a fiasco I had at another hotel I had booked but they didn't have mu reservation. Price was right given the short notice, location and what others nearby were charging. The Bad: The room has not been touched in literal decades. Awful flimsy furniture that looked like they got it from a second hand shop. old green carpet, terrible wall paper etc... You can just tell they have put $0 into improving the hotel since the 80s or whenever it was built. Could be much better but just is not."
