"There are about 30 steps from the off street parking space to the Treetops deck, but we knew that going in. One arrives at a spacious deck with a fantastic view of the Bay of Islands with Russell off in the distance - hence the elevation. It was a bit too cool to dine on the deck (there is a bbq) but at the end of each day exploring it was lovely to sit with a glass of wine on the deck, watching the light fade. Treetops is just enough off the main roads that traffic noise was never an issue,...

"Our hosts were amazing, they welcomed us upon arrival, assisted with our luggage and provided some home made baking. They host a very high quality continental breakfast with home made bread, eggs cooked to your liking. Excellent location for getting to quay fir boat and ferry trips and within walking distance of Waitangi Treaty Grounds. (Although the steep walk back up hill after a day out is quite tough...but view was worth it). "
